The room was great. You can't beat the location - just a walk across the street to the beach. Nice for the price we paid. Terrific service.

Ruined my daughter's credit by unethically sending her to collections for a false claim for hundreds of dollars. They felt as though they wanted my daughter to pay for her neighbors room because they complained about noise in the morning. They ended up sending a claim to collections saying they destroyed a rug so they could get away with it. We had pictures to prove that was false but they wouldnt comply with investigations. They have done this multiple times as other reviews on Google claim the same thing! Creditors found my number illegally and are still calling my home 2 times a day. Harassment to the fullest! Management are CROOKS! BEWARE as they could do this to you.

A few years ago I booked a suite at the Ocean Palms Beach Resort in Carlsbad, CA. A couple of us were outside of the room during the evening and our neighbor came out letting us know we were being a bit loud. We apologized as we were unaware and moved our conversation indoors. The following morning, I checked out and went on with my life.
A few months later, the first of hundreds of harassing calls would be made to me from debt collectors in the name of the resort stating that I owe them hundreds of dollars due to a damaged rug. I was shocked as I left the room in the same condition as I received it and double shocked as I'm receiving a call from people bullying me into paying them when I never EVER once received a call, letter or warning from the resort stating such a thing.
I called the resort to speak with a manager but was transferred over to their accountant who was equally as rude as the debt collectors. I come to find that they used the claim of a damaged rug in order to take it into claims, but the real reason was our neighbor that complained about the noise went to the front desk the following morning to get a refund of their stay (a bit rash for what really happened as it was fixed right when it was brought to our attention, but people will try to get free stuff anyway they can). So the resort thought I should pay for it since they comped the room to that guest. Crazy!
I tried disputing the claim but because they would not comply with the investigation, my credit kept on getting dinged. I never once received a call back from the manager, and still to this day get harassing calls from these debt collectors. Because of their unethical business practices, my credit score went from an excellent score to a low 600 and has taken me years to get it back to "good".
I'm not even the first person this has happened to as I found multiple reviews of guests experiencing this same practice and I believe that they will keep on doing this to innocent guests if they are not informed!response / report this review -

A few years ago I booked a room here as I did every year as I enjoyed their hotel and location. A friend and I were talking in the evening outside of our room when our neighbor came out to let us know we were being a little loud. We apologized and moved our conversation inside. The following morning, I checked out at the front desk and went on with my life.
Months later I received my first call of hundreds from creditors that accused me of owing Ocean Palm Beach Resort hundreds of dollars. I was shocked because I never received a letter, call, or any warning about this upon receiving harassing phone calls from creditors. Upon my inquiry the creditors told me that it was due to a damaged rug in the room that cost +$300. I was shocked as we checked out with the room left just as we received it. I then called Ocean Palms Beach resort to talk to a manager, which I never got a hold of for years as they never called me back And was transferred to the accountant in which they told me:
It was not due to a damaged rug (it was a lie). It was due to another guest (my neighbor) who complained that there was loud noises at night and she wanted a refund of her stay (which is quite ridiculous of a request due to us apologizing and staying quiet once we realized we were keeping her up). So instead of them comping her in any way they should have dealt with on their own accord, they decided to make me pay for it and the only way they could do that was by disputing a damage.
Needless to say, I was furious as they are in no way allowed to make another guest pay for a compensation of another guests complaints. I attempted to dispute the creditors claim but because they were not compliant and working with anyone, my credit score went from an excellent score of a high 700 to a very low 600 as I was unaware of these charges until months later. They are UNETHICAL and PETTY. They ruined my chances of getting a mortgage for YEARS.
THIS IS NOT A BASH ON THEIR PROPERTY BUT ON THE OWNERS AND EMPLOYEES THAT ALLOWED THIS TO HAPPEN.

The ocean palms beach resort is a great place to stay. It is hop skip and and jump away from the ocean. 20 steps away and ur on the beach. The rooms are very clean and safe like a home. This great overnight stay will definitely have me come back and relax.

This place is fantastic. I have been coming here annually since my youth. I have so many fond memories of Ocean Palms. They have renovated to perfection. The rooms are very vibrant, quiet, peacful, and everything you need is provided. I love the location, for across the street is the calming ocean. I will continue this tradition as well as my children.

Very nice place to stay. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and the beach is across the street. The only complaint are the small bugs I found in the kitchen and bathtub.

My fiancé and I stayed there for a romantic getaway. It was the perfect place to get away from the busy city and enjoy a quiet beach town. We stayed in the Lenai suite, which felt like we were on a island getaway with all the palm trees and Tropical themed landscaping. It's a few stair steps away from the beach and walking distance to lots of nice restaurants and nightlife that Carlsbad has to offer. We will definitely be returning soon!

Stayed in the Lanai 2 bedroom suite. Beautiful grounds, awesome room layouts and super friendly and attentive staff. Walking distance to all the fun places in downtown Carlsbad. Would definitely stay there again.

The front desk staff was genuine and incredibly helpful. Jose' gave us excellent restaurant recommendations and made sure we knew how to get there. There are many complimentary services like beach chairs, towels, and boogie boards. There is a light healthy breakfast and the pool and hot tub make a great experience. Less than a block away from the beach! The grounds are beautiful, all around a great stay!

The entire place made me feel like I'm really on vacation. The hot tub and the pool area is very nice. The fire pits at night = great hangout! The staff is so "chill" (hey this IS surfing territory!). Close to everything (our LYFT rides are all under $10 to Flower Fields, malls, the lagoon) and walking distance to great restaurants, bus/train stations, and of course THE BEACH! Coffee and snacks available 24-7, and breakfast of toasted bagels, juices, yogurts etc all free. I can go on and on and I can't recommend this place enough!

Stayed here twice. First time we spent about $15,000 for my family travelling from uk to stay for a wedding and they basically got everything completely wrong. Staff rude and unhelpful.
Second time stayed 2 weeks paid approx $3000 cycle was stolen asked throughout the stay for late checkout to be told on last day they couldnt help.
Dont bother with this lot they are completely unaware of customer service or loyalty. A complete waste of moneyresponse / report this review -

Rooms are very "homy," they have beach access that is about a minute walking distance from the hotel. Hottub, pool, weght room, and continental breakfast all included. Their rooms also have a King sized bed, and a sofa bed included, with a fridge, oven and microwave. There's free coffee in the lobby 24/7 and a "guest pantry" you can purchase snacks from.

Beautiful grounds! And pet friendly! The staff is very nice and helpful, and it is right across the street from beach access! I would recommend this place to anyone!
