I went there yesterday for a kidney stone. I was screaming in the ER from pain and was ignored. After almost passing out they call my name and then REFUSED to bring me a wheelchair and the nurse gave me his arm and DRAGGED me to the back. No pain med was ever given while I was there and I was discharged 120 minutes later after a ct scan should no stones. I told them that a couple years ago I went there and was released and was back less than 12 hours earlier (first time I was told it was gallstone, second time it was confirmed a bleeding ulcer).I took my husband there and he was sent home only to be admitted by another hospital 5 hours later and had an emergency surgery where 3 ft of colon taken out!!!!!!! HORRIBLE HOSPITAL rude staff and the only reason we go is because the surgeon and OB are officed there. I will find a new doctor. He is not worth the hospital. Only go there if you want to be in pain or die!!!!

I can't begin to list my disappointments with this facility. 17 days and counting as a family member of a patient, and I've been scared to leave his side most evenings. Please, please be sure you have a family member who understands the medical world by your family member's side during the admission. Thank God we have been there with him. It's been a rocky few weeks in this facility.

I received a wonderful service at the ER facility. I have complains about BILLING DEPARTMENT, My insurance covered 100% and I am trying to speak with somebody at Billing department for a refund and they have the phone forward to answer machine that always, always said they are busy and suggesting to call later. NO WAY TO SPEAK with them. I am trying to request a refund for about $1,000 !!!!

My wife and I recently had our baby delivered here. We cannot begin to express how incredible all of the doctors and nurses were during every step of her labor. Everyone was very professional, kind, and responsive to our needs. It was very comforting as a husband to see my wife and newborn daughter in such great hands. So many thanks and blessings to everyone in labor & delivery who provided us with exceptional care.

My grandson just had a somewhat emergency appendectomy here. He said "they treat you like royalty here!" All of the staff are friendly and kind. I really like that the entire hospital is spotlessly clean. He is in their pediatric wing, which I would highly recommend for any pediatric procedure!

My mother recently had her knee surgery done here and her experience was wonderful. The staff was friendly and helpful and surgery went well.

I've been in the hospital several times over 50 years and, I have to say, this was probably my worst experience ever. I truly believe they haven't a clue what they're doing. I'm the first to admit, I'm an awful hospital patient. When I first got there from the ER, I was quite impressed. I had a minor stroke and they were right on top of things. Then I was pretty much ignored except by my last nurse, Bethany. That girl deserves a raise! She was the only nurse in the entire place that showed any empathy at all. Thea in the MRI department was also pretty good and very nice.

They asked me six times in less than 24 hours what meds I took regularly and at what times. I finally asked the sixth gal if this was part of the cognitive tests for stroke patients. She told me, "They haven't asked you yet." Wasn't it in my chart?

I got there around 6:30 and thought I would be fed. Nope. This facility has room service where you order for yourself. A nice touch. Of course, the cafeteria was closed. But maybe she could catch someone. I asked my husband to bring me something to eat. Next morning, after they finally show me how to get fed, I placed an order and the kitchen staff was right on top of things. And the food was really good. So kudos to them as well.

My bathroom was filthy! I've been to cleaner dive motels. The room itself was okay. Next morning when I'm trying to sleep housekeeping comes and asks if she can clean. I told her to come back after a bit. She said, Okay. Then proceeded to clean anyway. She started with my bed. The cleaning product sent me into a sneezing fit. I told her to find something else to use or please stop. She did stop then continued to mop using the same product. I thought my head would explode. Not to mention that every nurse in the place was wearing scent. They won't let you smoke anymore because it might make breathing difficult for other patients (which I get) but the nurses are drenched in perfume or highly scented laundry products? That makes zero sense.

After all the asking about my meds, they didn't give me half the medication I'm on and nowhere near on time. I'm epileptic and take two medications for it. One of them, they kept asking me if I wanted it. Well, yeah. I take it four times a day. The main epilepsy medicine I'm on, they never even offered me. I asked where it was. Going off it quickly is dangerous. I was told it was too new and they didn't have it. I had all my medication with me so I said I'd just take the one I brought. I was discouraged from doing that because they don't want patients self medicating. I took it anyway.

None of the nurses either know how to properly move a patient or weren't strong enough to do it. My husband moved me with ease. I have bad neuropathy -- not from diabetes, it's hereditary -- and rather severe rheumatoid arthritis which makes movement incredibly difficult but they couldn't move me. My much smaller sister who is also a nurse, can move me because she was trained how to. Maybe a class would help them?

There's more but these are the main issues. Horrible experience and I won't be going back unless it's absolutely necessary. They're closest to my house but worth the extra distance.

I highly recommend North Central for labor & deliver. The nurses have been so amazing and know exactly what to say to keep you going because of them Lucas and I are both happy and healthy.

Worst experience ever. Went to the ER and then after 6 hours a nurse come in to say I was getting admitted but no one even came in to tell me why and what was wrong with me. On the 3rd floor I was supposed to get meds at 12am but they never came until 7am. I hit the call button and it took 5 minutes to answer my call. I had asked for ice and a nicotine patch and I never got it. I would never recommend this hospital.

My husband was transferred to North Central Baptist from Laredo in critical condition and after only 30 minutes of our arrival he had surgery and his condition stabilized. Spent 35 days in the hospital and we were treated fantastic by all the physicians, nurses, aides, etc. My husband's health improved so much that he was just transferred to Laredo in stable condition. My husband was in the 4th floor and I can only praise everyone in that unit. Thank you for saving my husband's life.

My daughter went in to have a baby on May 24, 2017 at 5PM to be induced for labor the next day May 25,2017 at 07:30AM. Had good care during this time, and exceptional care from a great nurse, named Jessica, who did an astounding job in caring and helping my daughter thru a difficult and long delivery. Baby did not come until 04:00AM on the 26th. When transferred to post delivery, it was the worst experience ever!!!
My daughter had been in labor since being induced at 7:30 AM on the 25th with no food since the 24th at 6PM until the afternoon of the 26th. The most unbelievable part is after being in labor for 21hours and not eating for 30 hour, only ice chips and a couple of popsicles, she asked her nurse to help her shower. This is 2 hours after delivery, My daughter was wearing a red wrist band which means, AT RISK FOR FALLING, the nurse tells her she has everything she needs in the bathroom and to make sure to take a cold shower, and then leaves the room. At this point my daughters friend was there and puts towels on the bathroom floor to help so she doesn't slip and fall. There is NO BENCH in her shower either. My daughter just thinks well maybe they want me to do all this by myself so I can get strong sooner. (That's not it at all, that nurse just didn't want to be bothered). So her friend is in the bathroom with her to help. When she finally comes out of shower she calls nurse. She come after maybe 15 mins. my daughter asks her to please bring her some water and the nurse tells her she can get the water right there and she points outside her room in the next hall way area and leaves. Her name is Annmarie, the worst most uncaring women. She also did not tell my daughter that she can order food or show her a menu. Because in labor and delivery area they do not serve food my daughter just thought they didn't serve here either, its the same floor. I find out when I see an older lady with a food cart and I ask her, You serve food here and she said oh yes!. You should have gotten menu and also told about a storke meal that your daughter can request anytime. This lady goes to nurse station and asks for the menu, they give it to her and she shows me the number to call to order. The nurse, Annmarie was there and I asked her why she did not tell my daughter this. She just smiled and said "I told her". I said to her if you had told her she would remember, because she was very hungry and asking me to go downstairs and get her food. Plus I said maybe with the 21 hours in labor and 30 hours with no food, and 2 hours after labor she did not recall and I did not see a menu in her room at all. She just smiled up at me again and said "I told her". With a care. No apology, no getting up out of her chair to show me the menu, the kitchen lady did that. I asked to speak with the case manager she never came up after I requested again for her she called and said oh I will report it in our meeting tomorrow. I told her I would like an apology for her indifference and lack of care. Lacie, case manager said I will let her know. Annmarie was there, never came and neither did i hear back from case manager. I would never recommend this hospital to anyone. Many other lacks from different nurses on the post partum side, very different from labor and delivery side. I would run from this place. They are lucky my daughter did not fall in the shower.GRRRR!!!!!!!

I recently spent 6 days in North Central Baptist Hospital, fighting a MRSA. Every staff member I interacted with, from doctors to housekeepers, was kind, friendly, efficient and competent. They always explained what they were doing, and readily answered my questions. They listened and were reassuring when I was whiny or distressed, and took time to make sure I had what I needed. They gave me clear instructions when I was discharged, and helped me transition to home health treatment. I hope never to be hospitalized again, but if necessary, I will request North Central Baptist.

If we cold give this hospital a negative rating it would suit it. The absolute worst experience we have ever had in a hospital. We will be contacting the state with the issues that we had during our stay. I wish I could have had a say in where my child was being transported to because I would have asked to go elsewhere. The most unsanitary hospital we have ever been in. Housekeeping does not keep up with the bathrooms at all. I took plenty of pictures of everything that went wrong during our stay. No consideration for the fact that we were not from the area and we're 3 hours away from home causing us to get hotels, they wouldn't accommodate my husband being here. Nurses that did not know the exact doctors orders for our daughter giving us the wrong information left and right. Let our daughter formula bag go empty we had to go and find a nurse to get more formula. Her water bag for oxygen went empty, same thing. We're not consistent with changing her linens and she laid on soiled linens. We could on with the problems.

Delivered here Oct 2016. Staff was great! Food was good too. Delivery rooms and post delivery rooms are huge and have pull out couches. I didn't go exploring after I had my baby so I get tell you anything else about the hospital. I would definitely come back here if I ever decide to have another baby.
