  I just wanted to drive through and look at the old Ft Caswell batteries. I knew they were located on private property and we might not be allowed in, but the worst we could be told is no, right? Well..sort of.
  I was told there were no pets allowed on the property. No problem, she can stay in the car. I was told by the guard "Sorry, they don't even allow pets in vehicles on the property." I didn't argue with him, just said ok and left. I don't see how it could hurt to just drive through with her (the dog) in the vehicle. Especially since we drove almost 2 hours from Jacksonville, NC.
  I'm sure y'all have a great program and do wonderful things for many people, but that dog rule is a little crazy. But, it's your property and this is America, so I guess I'll get my dose of history somewhere else.
