New Leaf is a great store. Great selection of organic items, lots of locally-sourced products; great deli, sandwiches, hot bar, coffee/juice bar And a fantastic cheese selection!

By far my favorite place to shop. They have such a good selection of organic produce and bulk goods. Juice bar, sandwich and sushi bar and a wonderful salad bar selection. They make fresh ready to grab dishes everyday that are so good

I visit Santa Cruz 2 maybe 3 times a month. Before I leave and drive back up Hwy 1 somehow I always wind up going to the New Leaf just because it is different, friendly and I get to enjoy the local vibe and people watch.
Has more of a real local feel unlike that other holier than thou corporate entity (WFs) that pretends to be one with the universe.
Really good market and interesting.
Nearby are some cool breweries and restuarants as well.response / report this review -

This is my favorite organic store in Santa Cruz. Has way more selection than the New Leaf downtown and I like that New Leaf is local compared to Whole Foods. The selection here is massive and you can find just about anything you might need. Their meat & fish department is the best in town.

Great whole foods grocery store. Wonderful produce department with local farmed fruits and vegetables. The seafood and butcher department's are great with awesome customer service. I really enjoy the hot food, the recipes the use are great, love the flavors. The salad bar is nice as well they even have seating so you can dine if you like. Wine selection is decent as is the cheese selection but all around great grocery shopping.

I always love coming here to shop for groceries. The produce quality is simply unmatched at any other store on the West side. The prices are sometimes better than the chain stores too.

Cramped store layout. They have great produce and the customer service and lines are great. Their prepared food sections have a lot of options, lots that are healthy too.
They actually have great coffee selection and great bread from companion bakeshop which is nearby.response / report this review -

Wonderfully healthy store full of fresh options, great hot and fresh made sandwich bar, clean and cold salad bar, and full of local and nationally renowned organic items. Only downside? Parking lot is difficult to navigate at best - always crazy and full.

Busy little market, all organic or 'alternative' kind of foods. Prices - bring plenty of gold, as it is all expensive. Still, if you're looking for food that tastes good and is good for you, this is a great place. Parking easy.
