- star !!! Nasty!!! awful awful employees doctors were nice and respectful the nurses and patient assistant care however are horrible !!! Like maurys guest in the show . Went to ultrasound for my mom and the desk ladies are grumpy rude . Lack of compassion and respect towards there patients . NASTY .
I went to Nassau University medical center when I broke my wrist. Dr's are outstanding and real kind. I was terrified at first when I arrived but the staff and Dr's reassured me I was going to be just fine. MARLENE from Hicksville. Thank you
The burn unit is the best! the doctors and the nurses are the most caring and supportive folks. my son was burned in his entire face, chest and arms. Part of his legs and spent a month inpatient. He did follow up skin revision surgeries and all i can say is thank God for their skill, care and attention. 3 years later and not only has their work given him confidence back but he look so great!
I had a great surgeon and eventually saw some good doctors but all in all this hospital is a complete joke of a place and an absolute waste of time. They will run you around and never give you an answer to your question, then make you feel like an idiot for having a question in the first place. I thought i was going to have to admit myself in for psychiatric help after going through the process of trying to find someone who could re-wrap the bandage on my hand which never even ended up happening. Then tried to call in for an appointment multiple times even left messages with no response. Will never attend this hospital again once i finish all this. I'm still in the process of trying to get an appointment after 2 days of calling up. You will feel like you are on the set of punk'd and Ashton kutcher is going to pop out and tell you that you are on a new show called Hells Hospital. Be warned.
On 8/31/17 my father was brought into the ER with severe head trauma due to a fall. The drs treated him with the utmost care even though he was very combative. Once in the Trauma ICU (2nd fl.) The staff was wonderful. They allowed my mother to stay all night and kept us all informed. Sadly my father past away on 9/4/17, The staff was very compassionate and allowed us to stay with him until we were ready to leave. There are 5 staff members who truly stood out. Sorry I did not write down their names. Hopefully i never have to , but I would not hesitate to send any one of my family to NUMC trauma unit. Thank you!!!!!
My daughter recently had major oral surgery done here. The surgical team was outstanding, and we can't say enough about the caring nursing staff who took such great care of her during her admission. The surgery was a success and she is recovering ahead of schedule.
Took one hour and fifteen minutes to see a doctor on a very quiet night. Only four other treatment rooms were in use. Staff stood around chatting. They made no attempt whatsoever to find the cause of my problem, but effectively put a "band-aid" on it. Their attitude and treatment surprised my doctor. They quite literally threw me out of the ER when their shift changed on 15 minutes notice. I came in with just my cane, not my walker and wasn't even offered the use of a wheelchair to move to the lobby, quite a distance for me to walk. The police (911) ambulance refused to take me anywhere else as this was the closest hospital. What was the point of saving a minute or two of driving time if I had to wait almost an hour and a half before a doctor saw me? Several private hospitals only a few minutes farther away would have treated me an hour sooner. In the future will call a cab, the volunteer ambulance or drive myself to a different hospital if this is the only one 911 will take me to..
The worst hospital I've ever been to in my life, nurses checked up on you every 4-6 hours. Doctor and nurses said they are going to do something and never showed up to do it, left me hanging until I was forced to walk up to the front desk and still didn't get anyone to come or a direct answer. Got into a motorcycle accident and I had several cuts from road rash and in extreme pain. Gave me Tylenol and refused to up the dosage. Doctor didn't even tell me his name, didn't recommend any anti biotics for me now all my cuts are infected. Didn't even give me any at the hospital, no creams, nothing, didn't wash the blood dripping from my face left me there the same way I came in. Made me stay overnight and all they did was give me a green egg that exploded when I touched it and Tylenol, there was no reason to go to the hospital at all everything they did I could have easily done at home. Worst service I've EVER received at a hospital. Recommend no one EVER goes there for anything, extremely pissed at the way they treated me, not to mention their attitudes. Took 3 nurses to get the bed to work(for it to move up and down) and they couldn't even get it, I did it myself after them leaving the room for 45minutes saying they "were going to find help", wrapped 1 out of 10 extreme cuts, not to mention it was the one that hurt the least. Put 2 of the same bracelets (had patient name)on me that were hitting into my gashes and the nurse had a huge attitude when I asked him to cut one off and didn't have an answer to why I had 2 on. Had useless material on me, such as the finger reader with a wire that would wrap around me when I tried to get the little comfort out of the situation, it was attached to absolutely nothing, and when I asked him to take that off as well he got all huffy and puffy and took it off and threw it against the wall and said "is that it?" With an extreme attitude, I am very very unhappy with there services. I've never written a review in my life no matter how bad a place has pissed me off, but this was just absolutely ridiculous. Save yourself people before they leave you helpless and it's too late to fix you. Not to mention I was in the trauma section, claimed to be the #1. Number one my ass. More like the last on the list.
One star is really too much. My husband was taken from his doctor's office to the emergency room via ambulance. When I arrived at the emergency room, my husband informed me that he was going to be admitted as soon as a room became availablethat was approximately 3:00pm. He didn't get a room until approximately 10:30pm and now I know why. Last night, 6/28, he was told that he would be able to go home today, 6/29. It is now 3:07pm and he still hasn't been discharged, and the cardiologist in charge is nowhere to be found which has been the case for the length of his stay, although I had asked to speak with him directly on more than one occasion. Medication that he has to take was supposed to have been ordered, but that hasn't happened either.
I wish there was a rating for "0" stars. This place is an absolute disgrace. I wouldn't let them treat my pet rock let alone my loved ones. The doctors think they are God, when in fact they are lazy and incompetent. They act like they are doing you a favor. One person has no idea what the next is doing. The psychiatrists are a bunch of kooks themselves. My favorite line they tell you when you have a problem is "Call the Police". Well you building full of malcontents if you were doing your jobs we would more than likely NOT have to call the police and might actually be able to help our loved ones rather than have them arrested and given a criminal record.
Very poor patient care. Doctors are talking and laughing instead of helping their patients. Waisting my time.
The billing department is a bunch of incompetent people. Multiple attempts has been made by my insurance company to contact this hospital in order to pay the bill. The hospital refused to sign the required paper works nor willing to work with the insurance company. Now they send the bill to collection. This is a no fault case as I was involved in an accident. I been to other hospitals during my time of recovery and my insurance paid them very quickly. I will take legal action against them.
I'm not sure if this place was the jail or the hospital. The building is extremely run down. The ER lacked the proper medical supplies. I knew that this hospital was one to avoid before I came, but unfortunately, I was brought to this hospital by an ambulance. Also, there was a huge problem with the billing. Upon offering them insurance information, the staff refused to take it and told me to take it up with my employer since the incident happened during work. It turns out that the employer was not responsible because the injury resulted from a natural cause and was not caused by workplace negligence. Three words that accurately sum up this place: unorganized, unprepared, and outdated.
Each time I have visited the ER I have received quality care. The wait times were reasonable. This ER offers a Fast Track, an option for some patients with certain conditions. Also, the ER has been remodeled and has many clean and comfortable exam rooms.
