Called for a part and they looked it up, said they can order it. I said great go ahead and order it and I'll pick it up. Guy said "Sir you have to come here and pay for it first". I told him that I was on the other side of town and could give him a CC over the phone if he needed and he said (like a total jerk) sorry we don't do that you have to come here and pay first (he almost seemed delighted to not have to actually do work). He said its the way their store operates and the owner sets the rules. I told him to make sure he tells the owner that he just lost a customer (partly because of the "rule" and patly because the guy on the phone isn't winning any personality contests any time soon). He said I sure will and slammed the phone down. Pretty for business decision if you ask me but hey- it's your business and you can run it however you want never going there again.

Needed front suspension parts for my truck, on Sunday. Had one, ordered the other, it was in Monday by about 1 PM. Cost was fair, cheap parts are no bargain. These guys are much more knowledgeable than other places I could mention. "Real" mechanics go here, I'm a DIYer.
