Best lodges ive stayed in, in the UP. Close to lots of fun, hiking, swimming, waterfalls, porcupine mountains, copper harbor, fishing, etc
Cabins are super clean, great easy going hosts. Plenty of room, good water (not hard like most) comfy beds, fireplaces for a romantic evening
Heatedright off the superior shorelike 40 yards!!
Swings,and fird rings next to the beach to enjoy the sunset over lake superior.

Ideal location, great clean cabins on the water. Shared picnic tables and fire pits make the place a bit "clicky". I wasn't welcomed by anybody on my first night, then when they all left, I was King of the castle, very strange I was annoyed that I had to clean the place before I left (yes, they even give you a vacuum). The front desk person isn't the nicest person in the world, even my own 11 yr old daughter was surprised how rude she was. I am from metro Detroit, I guess I'm glad I can cross the Porkies off the list but still question if it was worth the drive. Be prepared to have no internet or phone service, very little out to eat options - I would recommend the food truck down the street called Corner Kitchen. Great broasted chicken and on Friday's great whitefish. Hike the Mtns but go to the visitors center and they will gladly map out hikes for you. Make sure to bring good repellent with you, even go to REI and get mosquito nets (if your hikes are deep into the woods like mine were.

One of the best vacations of my life
Words can not describe it.
The lake , the scenery, the people, the northern lights, the waterfalls, the serenity. My wife and I will forever love this place. It holds a special place in our heart.response / report this review -

Nice old school lodges that have all modern comforts ala wifi. Beautiful setting right on the shore of Lake Superior.

The Lake Superior Shoreline is just something you have to witness for yourself. We actually saw the Northern Lights during our trip in November 2006. Beautifully landscaped grounds and comfortable cabinsyou can just sit back and relax. Rick and Jeni are wonderful hosts!~
