Awesome basecamp for exploring the porkies. The hotel is right outside the park entrance and has a restaurant attached for serving dinner. Pool and hot tub for relaxing.
If you're coming from Central Time zone- be aware this area is on Eastern time. We almost missed the restaurant hours due to our clocks being an hour behind!
A little pricey but the room was clean, the staff was helpful and the property is beautiful. Dog friendly!
Great location and better than we were expecting. Would definitely stay there again
Ate dinner at the restaurant with my girlfriend one Saturday evening. The atmosphere was non-existent. It looked like a church hall turned into a dining area. No one spoke. The food was clearly frozen minutes before serving. I mean, even the Cokes we got were watered down beyond belief. My girlfriend's burger came with a couple pickles on the side, so I ate one. It was dry and flavorless. How do you mess up a jarred pickle? Plus, there were a couple flies that wouldn't leave us alone. The waitress did her best to appear happy and provided good service, but how do you stay happy when you have to attach your name and face to that food? We saw a sign somewhere else earlier saying "As good as it gets!" and maybe that applies to the food in the area as a whole. We went back to our campsite and cooked hotdogs, which were delicious in comparison.
Rooms were clean. Hotel is located right on Lake Superior with beautiful views of the sunset. People were very friendly! I would definitely recommend to everyone!
Nice place, good breakfast, nice views of Lake Superior and fire pits. Great
Great location, great service, however food was average.
We stayed for 4 nights (3 rooms) and had a pleasant stay with no issues, even with the current construction. Beautiful setting. The complimentary breakfast made the price worth it. Clean, comfortable rooms. Great pool, hot tub, and sauna area. There was another larger group staying there our last couple of days that were a bit rowdy in the pool area, but that's not really the hotel's fault. If I get the chance to visit the area again, I will definitely choose this hotel.
Convienant proximity to Porcupine Mountains; clean room; " Superior" view; and friendly service.
Spotlessly clean. Pool and hot tube overjoyed the 3 year old grand baby. We got to enjoy them too. View was amazing. Close to all the park attractions. Nice friendly people. The restaurant in the hotel was the only place we could find to eat and the food started between $12-14 for a burger and fries. The food was amazing and worth the money. They have a microwave and mini fridge in the rooms so if your on a budget you can pack a cooler.
