I have stayed at other Motel 6 locations (because I have a pet dog and also the low price). This has been my least favorite. This location didn't have a refrigerator in the room, nor a coffee pot. Although there was a Kleenex holder by the sink, there was no Kleenex there and when I asked for one from a cleaning lady, I was told they don't supply it. There were no plastic eating utensils in the nook for morning coffee although the holders were there; empty. Lights didn't work well in my room and the television reception was bad. Some of the front desk personal were friendly, some were not.couldn't even get a smile. I was told that no one was allowed in the Motel without an I.D. which is something I didn't ask about nor have I ever encountered before. On a positive note, everything was nice and clean and it was affordable and in a convenient location.

Hotel was a bit older and hallways and such were kind of run down. Room was good though. Heat was really high when I first arrived and someone had used a very potent air freshener, but the heat/air-conditioning for the room could be controlled and after turning on the fan to get some fresh air the room was fine. Sheets were clean and smelled ok. Bathroom was also clean.

I wouldn't stay here again. It was cheap and it was only a night, how bad could it be? Answer is, bad.so very bad. I feared for my safety. Lots of dodgy characters hanging around outside. Person above us was in an altered state and going mental most of the night, so no sleep was had. Place was filthy. Pay a bit more and stay some where else.
Only positive was close to shops and food but still, don't do it.response / report this review -

Just a short way off the hwy, easy to find. Nice staff. Was super cheap. Only thing I didn't care for was there was no art on the walls so was kind if jail cell feeling lol buy its ok pretty much was just there to sleep and it was comfortable and quiet enough for that

My wife and I came down to Madison to see a show at a near-by venue. We had reserved a king sized bed more than a month before the stay for under $50. Expectations are not high when the price is low, so we weren't disappointed that it was kind of a beat up, smelly old room. Just kind of musty smelling probably from the a/c filter needing to be cleaned (which I did, free of charge) and the countless animals that have stayed their welcome and done there business. I'm not going to complain too much because like I mentioned above you get what you pay for and I paid for a room with a king size bed, stinky a/c unit, and smelly carpet. Take a shower life goes on, mission accomplished. All employees we encountered were very nice and helpful, no complaints there. I would recommend a stay here if you're low on funds, aren't trying to impress anybody, and/or every other hotel/motel is booked.

Absolutely terrible. The front lobby smells so strongly of marijuana that I'm pretty sure you could get high off of it. They tried to put me in the filthiest room I have ever seen. I walked in and walked right back out. If you have any other options for places to stay, take it, anything is better than here.

Pros and Cons of my 12 day stay:
PROS:
The room was cheap (likely the cheapest in town), and the bed was clean. The bed was comfy, but it was sagging, except for the middle. So if there's two of youmight not be comfy.
Plenty of restaurants and shopping places within walking distance.
Staff was friendly.
CONS:
I had to take the lid off the top of the toilet to make it flush.
The floor was really dirty. I would take a shower and my feet would wash off black filth from the floor. I spilled some water, cleaned it up, and the towel turned black.
NO AMENITIES. A phone and a TV. No fridge, no microwave (there is one in the lobby the entire building has to share), no hair dryer, etc.
Housekeeping does not understand that DO NOT DISTURB means DO NOT DISTURB! I left the "Do Not Disturb" on the door for 12 days, and nearly every day they would knock, announce themselves, and then try to enter. They would've gotten in and bothered me even more (when I was sleeping) if I hadn't used the dead bolt on the door.
No continental breakfast. Just coffee.
I overheard a staff member on the phone in the lobby: "Absolutely NO refunds for any reason."
Air conditioner was hard to work, because it was so worn down.
I was told my room would be ready by 8:00am. I arrived and was told that was a "mistake", and it wouldn't be ready until 2:00pm. They rushed along when the cleaning crew arrived and I was in by 10:30am, but I would've cancelled if I had known it wouldn't be ready by 8:00am.
Overall, this is a really bad motel. I wouldn't recommend a stay any longer than two days. I'll never stay at a Motel 6 again.response / report this review -

No refrigerator in the room. When we asked staff if we can store food in the staff refrigerator overnight, they said no. Had to go out and by a cooler to save our food. No place to hang our clothes in the room. Just nothing. Bare wall. Toilet flushing not working. Had to wait for a few hour before it fills with water. Went downstairs in the morning to get some coffee. Both coffee pots were empty. Took them from the break room to the front desk asking the lady there to fill them. She yelled at me - "GUESTS ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO TOUCH COFFEE POTS!" There was a lady checking out, so the clerk told me - "I will talk to you when I take care of my guest!" I told her: "I am your guest too!". Then she started blaming other guests that they drank all coffee, then she started blaming the previous shift that they did not brew more coffee. Finally, she went away and made some more coffee. I was stunned. Nobody ever yelled at me at a motel (and my husband and I travel a lot). We try to economize and stay at cheap places, but this place is a dive! I never saw so many undesirables in one place. I think the staff is so used dealing with drug addicts and prostitutes, that they yell at everybody. Disgusting.

Our room was very dirty,There were things in the drawers and the end table was so unstable it would crumble if you touched it, the toilet was plugged, we had to ask for a plunger, no one came to help just gave us a plunger that didn't work. Never could use the bathroom in our room. Too much chaos at the front desk, all you could smell was pot. I never thought there would be such a terrible place in this location, but this was so horrible. I never usually write bad reviews for hotels. I don't think I ever had to in my life. But this property needs attention ASAP.

We booked online only to drive 5 hours to be told our room that we prepaid for wasn't available and we could get a different room for more money. Then when we finally agreed to pay the upcharge since a 5 hour drive home was not an option we were told not only was our room we initially booked not available but they were overbooked so we would have to find a hotel for night 2.meanwhile there were 5 friends of the front desk staff in the lobby. One was sobbing and yelling on the phone. One was trying to get a "deal" to stay the night there and then proceeded to ask us for money because he didn't have enough for the room. And anther was drinking tequila straight from the bottle. We weren't the only guests that were at the front complaining. One guy was denied change for the vending machine. Another guest was charged twice on his credit card. Another guest had no heat in her room with her 2 year old disabled child and they offered her extra blankets and then when they finally sent her to a new room the window was off the track like someone had tried to break into the room. It was PURE CHAOS. We waited 2 hours for our refund so we could go find a hotel to sleep in. We did not feel safe at all with the atmosphere and it was very uncomfortable with the language, conversation, and behavior of the "front desk friends" that were in the lobby the entire time. I would NEVER EVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE. Nobody should have to go through what we went through or any of the other paying guests we encountered while we were there. Extremely disappointed and wondering how this place is still in business.

I had a great time at Motel 6 and thanks to staff team, the internet wasn't working from my room and this problem was fixed just on my last day, thanks to Monica.

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in and is only followed by another motel 6 location (although in a different state). Don't stay here. Just don't!
My partner and I stayed here during a month long business trip to Madison (our first visit). I made 2 week-long reservations at this hotel. The first week wasn't terrible, although there was dust and even candy wrappers beneath the beds and nobody cleaned or refreshed our room and when I asked the front desk for a vacuuming, they handed me a broom.
I saw police cars here almost every single day of our stay but heard nor saw any criminals/disturbances personally. The room itself was decent, with a nice albeit small flat-screen TV and plenty of light.
There are several doors but despite the key-card slots at each door, only the front door can be opened from outside, which is extremely inconvenient for any guest due to the fact that the front half of the hotel is taken up by storage and employee rooms, leaving guests to walk far in the cold to reach the front door and then walk far again to reach their room.
At the end of week 1, I visited the front desk to pay for our next week. I paid, received a receipt and returned to my room. Several housekeepers came to my door and addressed me not by name but by room number, and told me it was "time to depart." I showed them my receipt and asked them to change the sheets and clean the room, and then I left briefly.
Upon returning, I was again visited by several apparently uninformed housekeepers who shoved their way into my room on the pretense of repairing the smoke detector, which was completely disconnected inside! They were behaving very oddly- not sure if that was due to the situation or if they were somehow intoxicated; very likely both.
After much ado, they left, only to return and again tell me my room hadn't been paid for and that I needed to leave. I again displayed my receipt and then visited the front desk to inquire about the housekeepers disturbances. I was told at the desk that they hadn't received my payment from the previous week, for which I also had a receipt. The male manager was rude and demanded to see my bank statement, showing that I had paid. I accessed my statement from my phone and showed the man and woman behind the desk, and again showed my receipt. Despite this, they then insisted that it was my own error and they continued to demand payment.
I asked for a refund for the week that I had just paid for and they refused to refund me so I could stay elsewhere. They were threatening, and demanded I allow them to photocopy my I.D. and tell my bank to call them to discuss my account (what bank does that?). I contacted my bank who confirmed that the original payment HAD been made, but the employees continued to demand payment. I paid them again, for a 3rd time, and I then had to cancel my debit card and file an official statement requesting my money to be returned.
In addition to that huge nightmare, my room was only cleaned once, on the day they thought I was leaving. Even then, they didn't CLEAN, but took out garbage, remade beds and left new towels. Every other day I had to take out my own garbage, make my own beds and wait for the housekeepers to appear somewhere in the hallway so I could go get my own fresh towels. The female head of housekeeping was friendly, but didn't clean my room despite my daily requests, which was disappointing.response / report this review -

Our car broke down and we ended up staying at this location due to the price since our funds were low. It isn't a fancy place, however, they do provide excellent customer service. Shawn checked us in and gave us valuable information about the area. There was a nice mall nearby where we could walk around and grab a bite to eat. The other manager Antoine offered to help us with our luggage to our room at check in and check out as well. He was very polite. The housekeeper Sarah made sure our room was take care of. We had a leaky tub that we reported to the front desk which was taken care of right away. I would highly recommend this place not only due to the price, but the staff go the extra mile and show that they care.
