Too bad there wasn't a lower rating option. HORRIBLE! Made a reservation weeks prior just to come in after a 15 hour ride only to be told by some incompetent front desk person that too bad there is no room available. Like forget the reservation find somewhere else. And the person in front of me who made no prior reservation got put in a room that was already filled. These people have NO clue what they are doing. DON'T WASTE UR TIME OR PATIENCE ON THIS DUMP OF PERSONNEL
Horrible experience. My confirmation from Dec 15 to 17, 2017 was for a queen room.
When Wendy, the front check in person, finally found my reservation she said it was only for 1 night. I tried to show her my confirmation, she told me I needed to talk to Booking.com. Then she found the 2 night reservation.
She gave us the key, we walked into a double room with NO HEAT! It was 23 degrees outside. The thermostat was sitting at 55. I turned it up to 72 and went back downstairs to see what she didn't give us the queen room and to tell her that the heat was not working.
Wendy proceeded to tell me she didn't have any queen rooms, and she would have a maintenance man come look at the heat and bring a space heater. I didn't want a room with a space heater, really.
I went back up to the room, 224, and proceeded to contact Motel 6 guest services who said they called the front and that she was going to get the heat fixed. They told me anything about the fact that we had a double room needed to go through Booking.com. So I called them. I explained I had screenshot my confirmation and we were to have a queen room. They called to the front also, they said Wendy refused to put us I a different room, but would get the heat fixed.
By this time my husband is furious and goes downstairs. She got really ugly with him, so he told her he,would stand outside and tell everyone coming to check in that they needed to go somewhere else.
So 1 1/2 hours later the heat in room 224 was still 53 and she finally gave him a key to 319 to see if it would make us happy.
When we walked into 319 the heat was off, but when we turned it up, it came on.
So Wendy told us there, were no queen rooms to move us into, but now and behold at 1040pm on their website it showed 3 queen room available.
I feel we are owed our money back . We even asked to move us to the other Motel 6 in Pigeon Forge, and were told no.
At this, rate we are sharing this experience with everyone we know.
Look forward to hearing how this will be reconciled.
Do Not Stay here!!! Thank goodness it was just one night. We saw bugs. Cords strung over the floor for what was a portable air condition. We stayed in November and it was cold. The thermostat was there with no cover because it didn't work. No heat. They finally brought a portable heater which I would think would not be allowed. The bed sounded all night that is was going to fall at anytime. Springs sticking you all night. We have stayed in other Motel 6 in the area but after this I don't plan staying with Motel 6 again. Under the beds wash just plain dirty. Things had been either spilled and never cleaned. The back steps looked like they had not been swept in weeks. Odor in the building everywhere.
Do not stay here!!! Pay the extra $20 and go somewhere else. When we arrived to check in we went to the front desk. The lady working had the tv on some real housewives show, not really what I wanted my 8 year old listening to while we are checking in. I requested a roll away bed and the lady working said there were none available but since we are staying four nights I asked to be notified when one comes available she ‘made a note of it’ but we never heard anything else.
Once we got checked in we took the elevator up to the second floor. Right when you get off the elevator you are beside the laundry room, where the ceiling is falling apart. The carpet in the hallways is never cleaned. There is animal pee everywhere. The smell was atrocious. Once we got to our room we found long black hair all over the bathroom. We went on about our day and got ready for the event we needed to attend. Once back that evening we called the front desk and scheduled a wake up call, we never got it.
Other than the hotel being nasty and worn down the workers were horrible. They would smoke right outside the door. There are residents that live there that sit outside the side door that leads to the stairs and smoke and carry on cussing and being loud. The workers often join them. There were several broken windows from people installing window units and box fans. We never got housekeeping, we had to find the housekeeper and ask for towels and toilet paper.
I wasn’t expecting much for the price but I expected more than shipping carts laying outside and broken down lawnmowers. When we were checking out the lady working the front desk was watching 16 and pregnant (again not what my child needs to hear) and couldn’t get off of her phone long enough to even look at me.
***update once I talked to corporate the told me I would get a $50 refund..$50 on a almost $300 bill.
Awful. We stayed at this exact location 2 years ago and had much better experience.
This time however was terrible. The first night an ambulance was parked in front of our window with the lights on for over an hour, which of course is understandable; however, the curtain was broken in our room so literally all we saw were flashing lights at 1:00 AM! I called the front desk and spoke to a terribly rude woman who was no help.
There was fecal matter on the wall in our bathroom and pubic hair in the tub. A mobile air conditioner took up the majority of our room and had bright lights on it all night.
We changed rooms the following day.
We left a message for the manager that we wanted to discuss a refund for the first night and still have never heard back.
Just disgraceful.
I am familiar with Motel 6 and Super 8 as these are often my go to choices. When booking the room over a month ago, I thought to myself wow good location. I booked a Queen size bed but was given two double beds, so okay fine we will sleep in separate beds. The walls in the room were dingy and looked gross. One electric outlet near the wall by the bed had what looked like pubic hairs all over. So now im back to both of us sleeping in a double bed. Gross. Bathroom looked clean enough but noticed a plunger beside the toilet. Odd. Nope not when you gotta plunge it every time. Super gross. The hallways are dirty and it sounded like the small kids next door was in my room. I can say that I have marked Motel 6 off as being my go to place. At least two other families experienced some type of issue as i heard them complaining as i was leaving for the day. Spend the extra ho elsewhere
Room was clean. Microwave and refrigerator worked. No signs of bugs. Excellent view from the room. Two small hand soaps offered. Staff was friendly. The one complaint would have to be the towels. They were VERY thin, small, and hard to use which is my only reason for not rating 5 stars. Nicest motel 6 I’ve ever stayed at.
I would not recommend this hotel. The only positive aspect was the staff were friendly and it was cheap. The room smelled like cigarette smoke and was DIRTY. I will say we were warned that a previous customer had smoked in the room without permission. The bottom of the bathtub was peeling away and not sturdy. The comforter was stained with what appeared to be blood, or maybe chocolate I hope. The refrigerator did not completely seal when closed. Sorry, but this place was gross.
We appreciate the fact that Motel 6 in Pigeon Forge offered such a cheap accommodation, in a high-tourist area, where most hotels are triple the cost. However, our friends were the ones who chose to stay at the Motel 6 because of the price. We had never stayed with your hotel chain before. Even though it was cheap, we would rather pay a little more and have a much better experience than we did at Motel 6. The hotel front office staff, Angelia, was extreme friendly and helpful. But the hotel was disgusting. Carpets were disgusting throughout the hotel. It smelled like pet urine and smoke all throughout. The bath towels were not even three feet long. The mattresses were extremely thin and very uncomfortable, especially given that we stayed there for an entire week. Our pillow sheets didn't even cover the entire length of the pillows, which were exposed - meaning had someone had lice or bed bugs, the hotel pillows were exposed to our heads. The comforter was barely the thickness of a sheet or window curtain. The refrigerator was frozen. The pool area was disgusting and not maintained.
I have a hard time complaining because I realize this was a very affordable hotel; yet, I expect more from any corporate brand who does not have enough integrity to make sure that they offer not only a very affordable price but also a property they would be proud to have there only family member take advantage of. The only reason I am giving two stars is because of your front desk associate, Angelia and because of the price and location of the hotel.
The room was adequate, though the beds were only made when we asked. This is a pet friendly hotel and a guest on our floor had a pet that barked all night long for two of our 3 nights. They eventually asked that guest to leave. I am Ok with Motel 6 for a money saving place to stay, but not with a barking dog. My wife however, will not stay at a Motel 6 ever again.
Our room hadn't been cleaned, floors were terribly sticky, hair all in the shower, and a window unit air conditioner that didn't cool the room at all! My husband walked into the bathroom and there was a roach crawling on the floor. Then, while on the bed more roaches crawled out of the air vent. I tried to leave and get my money back and the lady said she couldn't guarantee that and that it can take 21 days to get a refund. She was nice other than that and even admitted to knowing their was a bug problem. Only giving this a 1 star because I have to rate this as something. I understand it is an 80 dollar room, however there is no reason to have such filthy uncleaned rooms. I was moved into another room that had been cleaned. Never again will I stay here!!!!
If you're thinking about booking with this hotel, save yourself the time and don't do it. The outside of the hotel looks nice, but the inside is another story. Right from the moment we opened the front door, I was ready to turn around and walk back out. For starters, the lady at the front desk was having an argument with someone (I assume it was her boyfriend) and was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and jeans. If she hadn't been behind the desk, I never would've known she worked there. Once we got to our room, we were disgusted. The hallway smelled like marijuana and there were a bunch of 20somethings partying a few rooms down from us. The room itself wasn't glamorous, but wasn't terrible. It's what you would expect for $60 a night. However, it looked nothing like the pictures online. The beds seemed to only be a boxspring with no mattress and the towels in the bathroom looked dirty. We decided not to stay here and we're told that we would not be getting a refund, even though we were only in the room for all of 5 minutes. Just long enough to walk in and turn around to leave. When the lady at the front desk asked us why we had a complaint, she told us that she had heard everything before so our complaint would be nothing new. Long story short - save yourself the time and the headache and spend a little extra for a better hotel.
When we first arrived we were tired and ready to go to bed but we found out that I accidently made 2 reservations. We were told that the motel itself had no way to cancel it, they had nothing to do with the website and we would be charged for both reservations! She said the cutoff for cancelling was 4pm (it was about 10pm at this time). She told me to call the website number. So I called the number and was rudely told there was nothing they could do and then placed on hold and hung up on3 different times! The 3rd woman was nice tho. She gave me the number to call the next morning to take care of the duplicate reservation. Next morning I called, they got it cancelled and nothing extra would be charged.
Let me talk about the room itself thoThe room was clean, floors and shower were nice but the mattress was too big for the box spring and the box spring didn't fit the bed frame. My husband and I had to sleep in the middle of the bed and try not to move the whole night due to fear of falling off the bed. It was not comfortable and could be much much better. Overall, the stay was not great and we won't be staying at a Motel 6 again.
