Carpets were filthy! My socks turned dark brown! Mattress had permanent dips/dents (both beds). Trash with mold was in between the top of the bed and the wall (both beds). One bed had an old used disposable glove in between the wall and the head of the bed. The sink was leaking but someone was able to fix it. Front desk was friendly until we needed more towels and was told they were out so we had to go to the store and purchase some. Our room had two beds and one set of towels. Great deal on booking.
Everyone that works here has been very nice. The maintenance man is always working very hard. The manager is very nice & will go out of his way to make your stay good. Most everyone keeps to themselves & doesn't cause problems. We haven't had any problems since we have been here. Most everything is walking distance & that's a plus.
My mom tried to warn me not to book a room at this place. My bf and I were in town for Thanksgiving and I just needed a room for a night so I figured it couldn't be that bad. WRONG. As soon as we opened the door we were assaulted with the strongest smell of cigarette smoke in a NON-SMOKING room. We were then greeted to a dark spot on the ceiling to the left of the bed that looked like mold. The toilet clogged and required a maintenance man to come in at almost 10pm. The bathroom and shower *appeared* clean enough but my bf didn't trust it enough to use it. Also, just an observation, but why have an ironing board with no iron provided? Or zero hangers, for that matter. The ONLY saving grace was at least the bed was comfortable.
Oh, and there is no breakfast served! And the coffee creamer they had seemed stale and long overdue for replacement. Do yourself a favor and skip their advertised but nonexistent breakfast bar and go to the Waffle House nearby.
Or do yourself an even bigger favor and just dont stay here. *WARNING: Your clothes will probably reek of cigarettes when you finally do leave*
Amber at the front desk is amazing.
My husband and I recently lost everything in Irma.
He's staying here with the dogs and all that we own to our name in the motel.and I am in a different town with family because we have children and they have a place for me to stay while he works. He drove a few hours to see the kids and I and got home late from visiting last night and his phone died which is his alarm and he probably just fell asleep on accident from pure exhaustion.
He has a great job but had to work this morning and we need every single penny at this point in life! So him being up for work was imperative. Well when the phone to his room wasn't working I was so upset because I wasn't going to be able to get him up!
Amber at the front desk graciously walked up to his room and did a "wake up knock" because I was desperate and I didn't have to ask she just offered!
If it wasn't for her my husband would not be going to work today and after losing everything giving us hope for another day just happened through this kind woman's actions!
You hired an amazing employee..
Thank you amber God bless you!
GIVE THIS SWEET WOMAN A RAISE OR BONUS GUYS!!!
God bless you motel 6!
From one end to the other, floor to ceiling, my room was completely and utterly filthy. Yes, I took pictures. Yes, I reported it. And yes, my money was refunded. That is all fine, but it does not make that room any cleaner. No, I would never ever ever visit the location on Dunn Ave, Jacksonville, FL., again.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. But, like many of these properties, they are long overdue for either a very deep cleaning and/or some major upgrades. Even at the price of a room, there are a lot of areas that need attention to compete with other similarly priced options.
This motel is the definition of a flea bag motel. I was given one room when I checked in, I went in the room it smelled so bad I had to take my cologne and spray over the a/c unit to get a better smell. As soon as I sprayed my cologne to cover the smell the front called and ask "how was the room? I told the young lady I wanted to cancel the room because of the smell " she said I can't do that because I went in the room". It had been about 10 minutes if that long that I was in the room. I ask her are all of the rooms like this she said "yes". I ask her could I try another room she said "yes". She gave me another room I told her it was better but since I couldn't cancel I settled for the room. Later that night I saw little roaches running around. I said to myself this is disgusting also I saw other little bugs. I said to myself I would never come there again. I told the manager they needed to shut that place down and have that place sprayed for bugs and cleaned. The place needs to be renovated and updated. Also there was no ice machine. Just an overall disgusting stay. No stars that I can give for this motel. Zero stars!!😟
The staff were absolutely sweet and professional. The room was acceptably clean, but mattresses are paper thin and hard. They were equal to sleeping on the floor. Also, beds were so low to the floor, they feel like something out of a doll house. Very small. Stayed on a Friday night and felt the price was $20 higher than it deserved to be.
Our room was filthy. Room 221 Had to change my own sheets when I got in the room because they were dirty with chocolate & crumbs. Second set of sheets that were brought from a laundry room, had mold on the flat sheet. Wadded paper towels (trash) were under the bathroom door, I thought the door was broken the bathroom door is hard to open/close, even for adults. Took a shower, (although it was not clean) and grabbed the towel only to find more trash. There was chocolate on the faucet also. The walls should be cleaned. Lots of grime along bathroom baseboards. Floor was not vacuumed. It's way too dark in the room, maybe housekeeping can't see the dirt? The ice machine was not operating during the 2 day stay. Temperatures were in the high 90s both days. Community microwave has a broken door and has NEVER been cleaned, but they have THE NERVE to have a sign telling guests to "keep this area clean at all times!!!" with the cleaning products on the counter between the coffee maker & microwave. Called and went to the office for a manager all day Wednesday and never received a call back. Called around 9am thursday and spoke to a manager who says she got my message She then gives me attitude about me complaining! Says she'll have to check to see if the room was cleaned I received a full refund.
There were some sketchy things going on outside in common areas as well.
"We'll keep the light on for you?!" Yes, please do! So I can see all the fleas that covered my family and I's ankles' being in the room less than 5 minutes. Do not recommend. Dead bug under the mattress and a musty odor too!
Staying at Motel 6 is very pleasant. I stay there every other week, just to get away. The rooms are comfortable an somewhat clean. But i do recommend them.
Scary area. We were looking for a very cheap - priced hotel near the airport to shower and spend four hours. OMG. Not even the bare minimum. No toilet paper? Really? We walked in and wondered why the light switches weren't lighting up the room. No joke. There was no light fixture! We couldn't even take our shoes off. Long story short, we used our own shampoo and conditioner, soap, and such. We had no other choice. $70 later, we needed to shower from showering and being there. NEVER STAY THERE!!!!
This hotel was perfect distance from a concert me and my 3 girl friends were going to. There is a walgreens within walking distance. The staff was super nice! The room was a little gross. The floor made our feet black, the tub and sink were missing pieces. Security was great! We were told by friends that this area wasn't the safest place to stay in Jacksonville but nothing bad happened. It was really quite and calm. The fixtures are a little out dated, paint on the walls were chipped and there was marker on the wall from what looked like a little kid had drawn on it and no effort was made to remove it. All in all though. Great stay for the price we paid.
