Monona Terrace is an excellent venue for business meetings and conferences, both large and small. The on-premises food services are very good, and there's ample parking.
We held our wedding reception at Monona Terrace on October 28, 2017, and are very pleased with how our event turned out, as well as with all the planning leading up to it. At the outset, Breanne was helpful and no-pressure as we considered potential venues. Once we chose Monona Terrace, Marcia and her staff provided clear guidance and answered all our questions along the way. We particularly enjoyed the tasting where you get to sample all the food offerings to make your selections! Matt was very helpful finalizing all details the week of, and the night itself came off without a hitch. The service staff was attentive and friendly (they even set aside a few of each appetizer for us at the head table, a nice touch), the food was delicious (a common compliment from our guests), the room set-up was flawless, and things just ran very smoothly. Would definitely recommend!
Monona Terrace Convention Center was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. It is a beautiful facility overlooking Lake Monona in Madison Wisconsin. It can be easily seen reflecting in lake Monona day or night. Parking is available inside and out. It is located behind the Hilton hotel, just off capital square in Madison, Wisconsin.
Not a bad event center. I was there for an event of around 200 people and it was just fine, not sure how much bigger you would want to go though.
Great place for conferences. The parking is reasonable for an all day event. The only problem is that the food is expensive. I would recommend finding food elsewhere or order delivery.
Beautiful View and location. I don't like paying for parking normally but this place is so well kept and manicured, I didn't mind (in hindsight).
Beautiful venue for a wedding
Food delicious and wonderful staff. All good.
You have to time the weather and your mood right - bad weather (or even really hot and muggy weather) could ruin the experience, and you order and pick up your own food so don't expect table service. But the food was quite good, the drinks were fairly priced, and the views are fantastic. If you are looking for relaxed open-air dining on the lake, it's hard to beat.
Visited the Monona Terrace rooftop yesterday and was pleasantly surprised at the beautiful native Wisconsin prairie flowers you had growing there! What a nice place to take friends and family. Just gorgeous!
Monona Terrace is a quirky Frank Lloyd Wright designed building. As such some things like the placement of the bathrooms can be awkward. But the view over the lake is amazing and the conference rooms are functional and flexible for conventions of small and medium size. Catering is always great, definitely in tune with allergy needs and personal choices. Parking garage and traffic are the only real drawbacks here, but neither of them are show stoppers.
Great place with an amazing view. Fun fact the Ironman Wisconsin finds it's home here and you get to run/bike up and down the parking helix.
Wasn't sure what to expect when I my daughter mentioned this "Monona Terrace" thing, ended up being a very cool little visit. Nice facility, nice view, pleasant walk on the lake. If it wasn't a holiday would have liked to ate at the cafe. Seemed like a nice relaxing way to end our weekend in Madison.
Helpful staff made our conference participants feel welcome and valued. The quality of the food was beyond expectationgourmet meals!
Space was perfect and the support staff (for sound and electronics)was quick to fix any problems we had with power point computers or mics.
Interior is often reserved privately but the terrace at the top is nice and provides access to the bike path and law park from the Capitol square street level
It's a beautiful place to have an event. The staff are great, both helpful and friendly. Just don't expect a good meal. The food is a little better than a good T.V. dinner but at a much higher price.
