I've eaten better shrimp off a $7.00 Chinese buffet. Paid $100.00 for tiny servings, got maybe 10 shrimp and some gross green beans.
Let me start with, the food was amazing.
But, the service was the WORST I've ever experienced in my entire life. Working in a restaurant for 12 years, that is hard for me to say. Our server took our order, brought our drinks. Did not come back to check on us. Ran our food, and left. Didn't ask if we needed anything or if our food was ok. We sat there with a 5 year old, and empty plates for what seemed like 30 minutes after we were all done eating. The manager came out, and apologized. I explained how horrible the service was, and he said he was sorry. And brought us our check. And that was all. Did not even try to make up for our bad experience. So sad, because the food was so good. But we WON'T be back. Managers name was Steve. Male Waiter had a heavy accent (think Russian)
My three sisters and I went to Mitchell's for a birthday celebration. We had four very different dishes and all were beautiful and cooked to perfection. My cedar plank salmon was light and delicious. They have a great wine selection. Out server, Danielle, was there when we needed her but not too pushy in moving us along. Overall it was a delightful evening and we're glad we chose Mitchell's.
The bacon wrapped BBQ Shrimp was a great appetizers. Our waitress Jeanie was awesome! The food took a while to come out but it was great! The fish n chips for kids, salmon was great and the gumbo was good! We e I'll return!
We visit Sandestin many times every year. We always eat here because it's close and we enjoy seafood. Mitchell's cook staff is top notch at what they do. The food and presentation is excellent for a tourist area. However, the wait staff is another story. Rude, and/or absent of a personality, disfunctional, uncaring, untrained, not supervised, and on and on. Just plain bad as service can get. So, expect good food but prepare prepare for the worst service imaginable. The good news is, you don't have to tip. I'm sure they don't expect one.
Excellent food. Wonderful atmosphere. One of my two favorite restaurants in the area.
We travel to the beach each year and plan on visiting Mitchell's Fish Market every time. Unfortunately, when we went during this trip, the restaurant had a strong smell that smelled like urine. We had to leave because of the smell. Based on other reviews I've seen, we were not the only ones to notice. Definitely disappointed.
Crab stuffed shrimp, garlic potatoes, fresh food! A great place for lunch with old friends and new ones.
We had a very long wait for our food. We ordered lobster bisque, they were out. Then, I ordered a creme brulee, they were also out of that. Disappointed to say the least seeing that it was only 7pm, and they were already running out of menu items.
This is my favorite restaurant. The fish dishes are all perfection. I like that the restaurant doesn't smell like a fishy hot restaurant. It's beautiful and the staff couldn't be any better.
