Ambar is a staple of the Clifton area and a good example of why so many consider the Cincinnati area a hotbed of great Indian food. No buffet, but the ambiance is pleasant and the food always delicious. Be sure to park in one of the designated lots, as parking in the wrong lot in this area could mean chancing a tow.

If all that matters for you is good food then this is the place for you. Great Indian food that has several options. Very friendly staff. Furniture/ Ambience not the best but works.

Extensive menu for vegetarians as well as carnivores. Great spice blend and ghee doesn't overpower curries. The lamb is always tender and plentiful in Lamb Saag dish.

It was an amazing dinner. Food is just outstanding as usual and today we had a very attended server. Her name is Geeta. She managed our big group so professional and with big smile. THANKS A LOT!

A friend told my husband and I about this place 12 years ago and shortly after we moved from Cincinnati. This is still our favorite place to get Indian food and we come back every time we're in town. I love how you can pick your level of "spicyness" and the mango lassies are the best.

Food was absolutely delicious and portion size was large. There was a slight hiccup when I placed my to go order but to make up for it they offered a free appetizer for the trouble. Great staff, will be coming back.

If you have just arrived from India and living close to Ludlow Avenue, come here and have saag paneer. It will be delicious. But, after your 3-4 visits you start to realise its nothing but a bowl of cream filled spinach. And, their 5 is super spicy;limit yourself to 4.
Nevertheless, it's way wiser to dine here than going to the other Indian restaurant on Ludlow.

Too costly. taste is not good. Except Roti other items seems to have been prepared a day or two before and they have re heater and served. Raita was good. When I asked extra Raita they said they will charge extra for that as well. The ambience doesn't look impressive. This is a big 0.

Great atmosphere with a rich history of memorabilia. Good chance you will see a celebrity eating in the restaurant. Ribs are incredible. I LOVE their pulled pork and their chops are the best. Saratoga chips like no other. Can be pricey but $25 for a rack of Montgomery Inn Ribs are fantastic.

I love Ambar. It's one of my favorite Indian places in Cincinnati. The food is delicious. It is a bit more expensive than other Indian places, but I feel it's worth it!

Firs of all, a bit expensive compared to similar places. Second, when you order two meals, they bring only one rice at your table, which is fine and most of the time you don't need the second rice but the problem is that you are paying for it. And if you don't ask for your second rice, they never tell you that you payed for two whole meals. And if you ask for the third rice, they will charge you extra money. This simply suggests that they are cutting a part of your meal that you payed for without telling you. This behavior is not acceptable to me. To be fair, food quality is good.
