The beers are served in 3/4 glasses and they come two at a time - that's fun. But the brats we got were a little undercooked. They have a great beer selection, but their cocktails are meh. And our waitress literally said, "I wouldn't have that" when my date asked about the wine. It's a beer place, though. Don't go here for anything but beer as far as drinks are concerned. I'd be willing to try the brats again, but not a great start on that front. And for a place that calls itself the brat house, I'm going to place more weight on the quality of the brats in my review.
The food here was average. I had the Belly Buster Burger for dinner on during my visit; their menu describes it as "The ultimate burger! A brat burger and a sirloin burger, topped with Wisconsin cheddar cheese and sautéed onions." I was impressed with what I saw when it arrived to the table, but unfortunately that was the height of my experience. As soon as I took the first bite I realized it was a hot pile of semi-bland grease. The service would be laughable if I wasn't frustrated; if you're not sitting at the bar you may as well be at McDonald's asking for table service. I was awkwardly stared at when I sat down at a table and even more so when I asked for a coke. The waitress only returned to ask if I wanted to check after I was done with my food and my cup had been empty for 10 minutes. I wanted to find a nice quiet place to have a great burger, but unfortunately this is not it.
This review is for both Milwaukee Brat Houses since I’ve at both locations.
Milwaukee: Good food and nice servers. Tried their cheese curds and they are ranked #1 cheese curds in Milwaukee for me right now. Service can be a little slow sometimes, but it’s not the end of the world.
Shorewood: I love the $2 burgers on Monday, an excellent deal with great value. Their burgers are very high on my favorite burger list. I was a little disappointed in the spice level for the ghost pepper cheese. I thought it was too mild. If you can kick up the heat on that cheese it would be fantastic.
It’s definitely a great place to grab good food with a beer. I try to go to these places often!
On old world 3rd street.. The place to go after. ( or during Marquette.. Or Bucks..or Brewers ..or Packers games. ) very good food.. Outdoor seating. One of the best down town spots. One of my favorite places to eat in Milwaukee. Service is fast and always that classic Wisconsin friendly, and the brats are to die for. If you're going, definitely try the pretzel bun with whatever you get!
The food was delicious! We're from out of town and were really pleased with how nice and helpful the staff was. They gave us great recommendations and food and drinks.
Omg this place it's amazing, we were greeted by the owner. The waitress was very nice, and gave us great service. The food was amazing and the huge pretzel was really tasty but we couldn't finish it. Our overall experience was awesome.
I'm visiting from N.J. this place was great. Get the pretzel to go. It's huge. Great beer selection. I had the belly buster burger. It's the best of both worlds, burger and brats.
The food here was very delicious. A true Milwaukee experience. I utilized and recommend the create your own menu. It features 5 sausages, over ten toppings, and several cheeses for endless combinations of savory goodness. I got a Polish dog with bacon and mozzarella cheese with the best cheese curds I've had in my limited time in Wisconsin. Others in my group got a brat, chicken wings, a spicy Hungarian dog, and a burger. All were impressed and extremely satisfied. The curds we're so good that we had to get a second round because the first order lasted less than three minutes. I also found the service to be friendly and good. I will make sure I eat here every time I come back to visit. I highly recommend this place.
Ariana and Gogo were amazing at the bar, they gave as the best food from the menu, and Ariana took care off us. We had a blast before the game so make sure to stop by before the game here. Amazing atmosphere and service!
Their beer cheese soup is mmmmmmm. Buffalo chicken wrap is always tastyyyyy and their fries are the best in town!!
Great atmosphere, nice craft beer selection, and good pub food.
With a name like the Brat House in this city you better deliver the goods, and they do. Great mix of classic and upgraded sausages to choose fromHardest part is picking which one to eat.
Owner Andy took the time to set us up on a busy Packer Sunday - 13 of us that's what I call Milwaukee Hospitality. The pretzel was HUGE and tasty, the food was OUTSTANDING, and the service was personal and memorable. Thank you Andy, we'll be back.
