Almost two years ago I purchased a used Tundra from this dealership. Recently I learned the hitch and rear bumper were in serious need of repair due to excessive rust. I reached out to the dealership to make them aware of my problem. Dennis contacted me almost immediately and offered to help me resolve the problem. To make a long story short, all the necessary repairs were made at a minimal cost to me. The technician that did the work, Ryan, also did an excellent job. The folks at Hickory were willing to go to great lengths to ensure I felt I was treated fairly and I sincerely appreciate their efforts.

After test driving a vehicle, the salesman’s calling to see how much the pay off on my auto loan was, and then checking out my car I was going to trade they come back to tell me I have no credit.. I can check my credit now on any app and find it through equifax or my loan company. Considering I do have a loan I make payments on monthly and it goes up every time I make a payment. But no, apparently my credit is “0”. He tells me it takes a while to “load” or before anyone other than me can see it. Fine, whatever, I wasn’t too upset. Upset because I had my heart set out on the vehicle but not so much that I couldn’t just walk out and go talk to my loan provider about getting approved for a larger loan. So I leave and within 30 minutes I received a notification that my credit score had dropped.. thanks for that, by the way. So my nonexistent credit score drops 4 points when Mike Johnson’s Toyota checks it but they can’t see it? Okay.

Initial contact with sales person was Justin. He was nice, usual salesperson at the start. Looked at pics online as dealer 90 mins away from me. In picture looked like there was a scratch on dash and Justin said they would repair. It ended up being a huge crack on the whole dash which he never told me about--I had to see it myself. Justin and managers would not go lower than the price that was on the website--they said it was lowest they could go. After bringing the the used 4Runner back after having it checked out by mechanic, decided not to proceed with it. There was a large crack in dash that the dealer would not fix and a couple of minor things. This is the worst I have ever experienced in a dealershipthe price on this SUV was lowered $1000 over night on the dealer site and Auto Trader and when Justin asked if we were taking it we told him of the lower price. Justin got ugly and rude and said "no way, prove it to me"! We said okay, and he said he didn't believe us and held the door open for us and said Goodbye! WOW!! Walked to car to leave and managers Chris and Andy came out behind us, to smooth things over. They tried, but damage was done. Too bad, as it really was a nice SUV.

Be aware of what you get into. Sold me a car and told me to come back in 10 months and I could get a truck with no problem and even have lower payments. 10 months later and they will not honor that. Very dishonest and going to let owner know. Be Aware people this is a place that gives car dealers their bad reputation. Just thought I would add on to this after some research. Seems they tell you that you will earn loyalty cash toward your next purchase but what they don't tell you is that this is for service work. You have to go and see that you can get up to $2999.00 back to you for having service done at Toyota. All I can say is if you talk to Sean Van Horn be careful con artist. Don't appreciate being lied too and don't want anyone else to get screwed. Guess this is what you might call lawyer consultation time. Just be aware people.

I recently visited Mike Johnson Toyota and bought a 2015 Toyota Camry. My experience has been very frustrating and dissatisfying, and I’m writing this review to warn people about what happened to me. It all began when I found a 2016 Toyota Camry and requested a quote. I was contacted by one of Mike Johnson’s car salesmen, Justin Crowe, who told me they had actually sold that car, but there was another car that I might be interested in test driving. I live 78 miles away from this dealership and only went down here because they had the type of car I wanted only to learn that another salesman, Nick Thompson, was going to be helping us. I found a few flaws and pointed them out to the used car manager, Nate, who assured me that it would be taken care of because it had happened on their car lot. The damage was a crack in the front valance next to the turn signal light causing the light to be loose. I bought the car with the understanding from their used car manager that the defects would be taken care of. I scheduled the time to bring it back down and was told by Nick, the salesman, the damage would be fixed. A few days later they called me to let me know the car was ready, so I drove back down to Hickory to pick up the car. Once I got there, I saw that they did NOT fix the problem and instead the salesman, Justin Crowe, told me that they couldn’t repair it because a new valance would cost them $900 to replace. That is not my problem, two employees told me the car would be fixed! I clearly let him know that is not what was told to me by Nate. Justin proceeded to tell me that “he’s just the messenger and he doesn’t know what was said because he was not there.” He went back to talk to Nate and came back only to tell me that Nate said, “I told them we would TRY to fix it. I never said we would definitely fix it.” At this point, I knew it was their word against mine and they never intended on fixing the car in the first place. My worries go a little farther now because I bought two extended warranties with them and am concerned that they will find a loophole if ever I need to use one of the warranties. If you’re buying a car from them, please do your research and make sure the car you are interested in doesn’t have any problems before you leave because you’ll NEVER get the issue resolved.

Thank you Bill, I enjoyed talking to you at the Express. Your upbeat attitude made the long wait, not so long. I will give you a 5 star, but not the company its self. Thanks again

One of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. Just purchased my first car from a dealership there and it was a wonder experience. Sales staff was very attentive. Luke McDaniel went above and beyond to make sure I had a great buying experience. I will be back in the future!

Great staff..but the customer service needs a redo.. Well the service dept. I wasn't greeted and didn't get all the details of what they done to my car. The second time I had it serviced I did .get greeted ..and was told everything. So its hit or miss. And with a little business like that ..it can't be hit or miss.

My service agent "Cindy" was exceptional in every way. She was friendly, professional, informative and helpful beyond my expectations when she walked me to my car, opened the door, put my purse inside, cranked the car for me and all because I had just received a free manicure while waiting on my vehicle service and she didn't want me to mess up the polish on my nails. I love this woman! Thank you Cindy for exceeding my expectations.

On our regular appointment we had a great experience with our service advisor Cindy Hall as she was courteous and professional at Mike Johnson of Hickory. She was very helpful to inform us regarding the recall notice on our RAV4 to avoid an additional trip. She kept us informed throughout the progress of the service. She was helpful by understanding questions related to issues regarding navigation with our car. We look forward to seeing her smiling face on our next visit.

I have to say, Mike Johnson Toyota was my best experience at a car dealership i have ever had. They were courteous and not pushy. The manager sat me down with a friendly sales person who was respectful and told him to take good care of us and he did. He listened to my concerns and what i was looking for, and they gave me a great deal with a few added amenities that i didnt even have to ask for. There was no haggling needed, asthe price was a great deal. I would recommend this dealership to anyone and already have to several friends and family.

Took my Lexus in for just an oil change. I was not aware that the inside of my tires were worn almost bald. Had Brandon, my Service Advisor, not been thorough with inspection then it would have been overlooked, and could have cause an accident. He always goes above and beyond. I have worked in an automotive service department. I know what good service is. I come to Mike Johnsons Toyota because of the great customer service given. Thank you Brandon for always taking care of us!

Just changed this review from a 5 start review 8 months ago to a two star review. My first service was wonderful and services have drastically gone down hill since. It's always way longer than quoted to get work done. Last time when I picked up my car, after a very late service, I pulled out of the lot and heard a grinding sound, pulled back in and then had to wait again for them to fix what they broke. This time, scheduled an appointment for 10am to have my brakes looked at, showed up on time, and at 11:35 had not heard anything. I questioned the service rep and was told THEY HAD NOT EVEN TAKEN MY CAR IN TO LOOK AT IT. SERIOUSLY. I was flabbergasted and told them I was leaving. He then offered me a shuttle to shopping, no thanks and then finally a loner car which I also refused. I live 45 minutes away and would then have to drive it back. They could care a less about how long you sit and wait. Would have been nice to have been updated much earlier and offered a car then. Too late. Never going back

I took my car in for the 30,000 mile check up. They were courteous and quick to check me in. They did a good job and took care of what needed to be done. It did not take too long to service the vehicle. I was able to leave my car to go shopping with a friend and come back to pick up my car. Checking out was easy and the service guy went over suggested future service and thanked me. He walked me to my car and I was finished. It was all easy and good. I will go back for future service.
