Dive bar, super sweet locals with a very down to earth vibe. All the bartenders are very friendly, as are the bounders (shout out to Mike, Jill, Derek, Dillion and Nick) cash only, but they have an ATM.
Small and cozy. perfect for a punk rock show.
Have been here a few times for the Queeraoke on Thursday nights, which is a great queer-friendly safe space. Can get crowded, but everyone's so friendly and it's a cozy, comfortable vibe! If you want to sing, I'd recommend getting there when it starts at 10, or staying til the end because the queue does get long. Deducting one star because the drinks are watered down - as a super-lightweight, I had two beers, a LI Iced and a dark 'n stormy and still felt mostly sober.
Fresh live music, friendly bartenders, and reasonably priced adult beverages: make this watering hole a when, not an if.
Went there for queer karaoke, was a fun experience overall with a supporting crowd and happy atmosphere. Be aware there is a $5 cover charge and is cash only.
Awesome music and comedy venue with a big stage. An old-school place where cash is king (put that card away, unless you're getting money out of the ATM, kid). The hosts of the comedy show, Midway or the Highway, are fantastic. Gabe Stoddard and Angela Sawyer are professional and keep the show moving along well. Five minutes for each performer. Music, poetry, and comedy are all welcome here, though last week, only comedians showed up. In a cool neighborhood in Jamaica Plain. Try it out!
Great owners. Amazing hippy night every Friday that attracts the same regulars. It's great
The Midway is possibly the best spot to see live music from the most talented and passionate independent musicians in the region - and beyond. They have wonderful staff, and I've always felt welcome and at home whether as a guest or a performer.
Great place! Great bands! Great beer!
Easy going. So much fun! Queeraoke is so dope!
Decent place to hear live music. Not the best sound mix kind of set it and forget it approach and it's LOUD so bring ear plugs. Great bartenders.
This the best reason to come to Jamaica Plainunless you already live here. This place has some of the best live music in the Boston area.
Pay no attention to "Food" on the awning--there's definitely nothing to eat here.
One of the best dive bars I've ever been to. Great place for live music, friendly and lively patrons, and good service from the bar keeps.
