Ordered the pan-roasted lobster in a bourbon sauce with chervil and chives and it was the most delicious lobster I’ve ever had! The mussels in herb broth under the “snacks” section of the menu were also so delicious; every mussel was big, juicy and packed with flavor. Highly recommend eating here! Server was very courteous as well.

Food was very good. Server was very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Conveniently located near the convention center. I am in the area every year at this time and always make it a point to enjoy Summer Shack at least once each visit.

Lobster was good (got the 1.5 lb famous Jasper's pan roasted). The atmosphere is very cozy and friendly. The server are attentive and kind. The clam chowder was also good. Would probably go back here to try their oyster menu.

Summer Shack is an unpretentious and somewhat hidden seafood joint above Kings bowling alley and adjacent to Hynes Convention Center. It's appearance from outside is unremarkable and inside is a sort of beach side, less serious summer fish shack.

The appeal here is an expansive bar to fill the hearts desire. That also includes less expensive raw bar favorites that are also a part of a late night happy hour. The menu, though, does range from cheap to the pricey, including lobster, lobster rolls, fresh fish, and land dishes.

All in all, this unpretentious restaurant is a nice break from much of the high end appearance if Back Bay that can make the experience here more comfortable for a quick, easy bite.

Loved my oysters, side of broccoli, and apple crisp! Fun soundtrack and great service too. They print a new menu every day with the latest oysters, some of which were the largest I’ve ever had. Hope to come back for an entree sometime soon.

Horrible service. Do not come to this place. We made a reservation for 8:45 and requested to sit near the TV to watch a game. Once we arrive we had to wait 30 minutes to get seated. Once we were seated the table was not close to the TV at all. We were moved again to the bar. Then we were moved to a table near the bar that was intended for 2 people and a 3rd chair was added. The table near the TV finally opened up and we were able to place our order. 20 minutes after placing the order I am told that what I requested is no longer available. No concern for customers and no desire to correct terrible service. Unacceptable. Disgusting.

I came to Boston and demanded lobster. The forces of the universe guided me to Summer Shack. I left buttery and sated.

Damn fine lobsters. Damn fine oysters. Wish there was more beer, but that’s a minor note.

We had a large group and there was a lot of sharing, so I can say with confidence than just about everything on the menu is superb.

Delicious lobster roll, bluefin, crabcake and crab stuffed flounder. Don't bother with the clam chowder but the Greek salad was tasty and big enough to share. Boston cream pie was excellent. This place is pricey but nice for special lunch when you want good seafood.

This is one of the best sea food places in downtown Boston. Ambience there actually resembles that of a shack along a beach side. Food is hearty, fresh and good. I have been there 3 times and I have had the lobster roll on all occasions. Lobster is done to perfection. Bun crispy and buttery and lobster drenched in butter.
Drinks are good and served in really fun looking glasses. My favorite is the pineapple chi chi.
Definitely worth the visit.

Classic New England fare. Clam chowder was great. Calimari with banana peppers was a little soggy for my liking. Fried clams were pretty good. Seemed not as much belly as I've tasted before.

Great place for out of towners and locals alike to get some quality seafood inspired by local traditions. Featuring almost any New England seafood you can imagine, from lobster to chowder, to fried clams, to a huge selection of raw oysters, summer shack is the only place I'll go in Boston for a lobster or a lobster roll. Huge selection of fresh rotating grilled and seared fish options and a tiki bar! Awesome spot for families or just about anyone.

Came here on the suggestion of a local and was not disappointed! At the suggestion of our server (who was fantastic and friendly), we started off with the clam chowder (b/c when in Boston, why would you do anything else) and the griddle cornbread with molasses butter. Then split the lobster roll, which was amazing. Then finished with Jasper's famous pan roasted lobster (3 lbs.); it was fantastic, especially the garlic butter sauce.

All in all, great experience and cuisine!
