Easy parking in the area which is huge! Decent food and even better event area. Small stage and perfect for more private shows. If you wanna see an artist there you're very close and personal there .
This is such a cool spot! The food is amazing the people are nice and the music is always on point, especially when Different StrokeZ and Asn The Music Man preform on Saturday's! I love the old school 90's live music!
Live music from national acts to locals. Local art in the walls and even some pretty good food. It's a good place to catch a show if your at the corner restaurant or downstairs. I don't like the backroom upstairs, though. The pillars/columns block the stage for maybe a third of the crowd. Besides that, no complaints.
Get the falafel and go see a show! Always a great experience here. So many good memories over the years.
Middle-east downstairs is my favorite venue for shows in Boston hands down and on my top 5 for favorite venues that I've been to across the country (up there with Metro in Chicago, and bottom of the hill in San Francisco). Great space and good audio. Reasonable prices and top-notch location. Worth a visit.
Great venue for music and comedy. Open Mic for comedy is on Tuesday nights. Hosted by the very funny John Paul Rivera and the very funny Rob Crean, show is at 9 PM and goes until whenever there are no more comics. The staff at ME is exceptional. The food is always good. Great location on Mass Avenue. Check it out.
Come for the music, stay inside for the entirety of the show if you're under 21. The artists that this venue attracts are awesome but the security are extremely professional and will not allow you re-entry if you are not 21. For most people this is not an issue, but being 19 years old, it was an moderate inconvenience. That said, the security are also very helpful for those who may be in wheelchairs or have any other physical disabilities that may prevent you from enjoying your night to full potential. Guys, if you have to take a dump, make sure you do it before the show.. none of the stalls in the downstairs venue area have doors.
Local and small touring band venue.
It's a Boston institution. Several performance spaces. A number of bars. The food upstairs is pretty good too, though it is not the best example of Lebanese cuisine I've ever had. The performances spaces are differently sized, but even the largest "the downstairs" is an intimate venue. It can get loud and hot -- but it is a club after all.
The bouncers have always been polite & professional. The bartenders are quick. It's always a good time.
“an Iconic place in Cambridge”
I had a really great time at The Middle East.
Run by Lebanese brothers since the 70's, this amazing place is a must-visit in Boston. The owners are proud of their venue and are morethan happy to give tou a tour and let you discover its rich heritage.
Meet, enjoy music or dance, drink and eat with locals or bump into a local politician or any other artist in one oft the Middle East rooms : Upstairs & Downstairs (concerts), ZuZu & The Corner (restaurant & bar with live music some nights a week).
I've been a patron, employee and performer at this establishment for over 7 years now and will continue to support them. One of my favorite destinations in the city!
Went here for the first time for a concert. Was really having such a wonderful time. It was WAY too hot downstairs.. I wanted to go get some fresh air and then my husband noticed a sign that said no-rentry if you are under 21 ended up having to leave because I was too hot and needed to get fresh air. And then could not get back in. I get the point of the rule, but they have to realize how wrong that rule is. I was also going to see one of my favorite DJ's there in a week and I don't think I could stand being in there for more than 30 minutes. They should at least give you a warning at the door. Very unhappy. Waste of my money and time.
I AM A FULL-TIME CREATIVEI was inspired to make my first video after experiencing this place for the first time 10 years ago. I have never stopped making videos. thank you Middle East! thank you Leedz!
Some good local, indie or international bands. Fun place downstairs for concerts. No air-conditioning though so it could get hot.
