Horrible experience. Went in with a friend for a bite as the place looked very cute, but with the first sip of the decaf coffee I became extremely nauseous (am assuming due to bad cream) and knew my friend and I would have to leave. The waitress was slow and seemed uncaring and was no where to be found as we wanted to ask her to prepare our orders to go since it had not arrived. We waited and waited for her but she never came back to the table and finally we went to the hostess desk to pay the bill and request the food be packed to go. The hostess was also clueless and uncaring and could not grasp what we told her (all while I was getting sicker) and finally, about 15 minutes later, the very inattentive woman brought a "bag" with an order and my friend and I departed only to find, once we arrived home, that the food in the bag was not anything close to what we ordered. I was to sick to eat anyway but my friend, who was hungry, was without dinner. I called Meg O' Malleys back to inform them of this and the manager "Earl" gave the templated "Yeah, I apologize for the mistake" blah, blah, blah response. He said he would refund my credit card and offered vouchers to return- and I don't know why as I will not go back there again. A lovely vacation night ruined across the board and I recommend avoiding this place. The nausea continued for hour.

Glad to see vegan options popping up here! Loved the Beyond Burger but would be happy to have a vegan bun and more veg-friendly sides available. Our server was very good when it came to meeting our needs. As a Melbourne local, it's nice to be able to eat here again.

The food and service at this restaurant are both superb. I was not expecting the quality and tasty-ness of food I received for the money! I tried the bone in pork chop and I must say it is the best chop I've had in years. I also tried their signature bean soup, a cup costs only 18 cents! Next time I will upgrade to a bowl! I am not a huge fan of bean soup but this was delicious. Our waiter was excellent..
Full of personality, quick on his feet, responsive and anticipated our needs!

Parking stinks, although there is a lot in the back that fills quickly. And it's always crowded. But the food is AWESOME. Traditional Irish specialties including corned beef and cabbage and shepherd's pie are delightful. And definitely try a cup of the 19 cent soup - but order a full-priced bowl because it's that good. Service can be a little tricky - some of the servers we've had recently were less than helpful.

This is a fun place to go downtown Melbourne. Always packed and very enjoyable place to stop in have a couple of drinks, eat dinner. Love everything about this place even if you have to wait. You find yourself standing there and meeting more friendly people

Food was excellent. Service was great. Drinks were well poured. Nice atmosphere. Not much else to ask for. If I lived in Melbourne, I'd probably be there a lot.

WowI always come away happy at this place! The corned beef is about the best that can be had - and the soups and sandwiches are killer as well. I love the atmosphere and the staff is friendly and attentive. The seafood mac and cheese is a killer surprise dish. Highly recommended. Sometimes hard to get a seat - but worth the wait if you have the time.

Tried going here tonight with the usual group from work. I got there first to secure seating for us since there is sometimes a wait. Tonight there was no wait and seating available. However, the host refused to seat me until at least half of my party was present. We have never been told this before. I would understand if they were packed and had no seating but to not be seated without there being a wait is ridiculous. Very disappointed tonight. Strong chance that our group will not return here, especially with so many other options in the vicinity.

Great Irish pub! Located in old town Melbourne. Good selection of beer from the green isle, and many local brews.

The food was top notch. Tried the sheppards pie and it was very good and large in amount.

Hard to go wrong if you want a drink and comfort food

UPDATE: Could I add a sixth star? Made a stop at Megs during happy hour last week, and wow. Half priced drinks made with a heavy hand are EXACTLY what you need at the end if the workday.

This is a great pub in downtown Melbourne! The food is AWESOME and the beers are everything you want them to be. Great atmosphere and staff; this place is an absolute winner. Add life music and you have a great spot to spend some time with friends who are up for what will likely be an excellent night.
Try the shepherds pie and Guinness stew for comfort food heaven.

Sat at the bar for a pint of Guinness. Delicious. Beautiful bar. Fits the bill for an Irish Pub for sure. Menu was huge everything looked awesome. Wish I didn't eat a large breakfast. Staff was attentive and courteous. Planning a visit next week for lunch. Looking forward to the return.
