Had a procedure done in the cardiac unit. The staff were fantastic! I was very nervous and everyone was very caring to my needs. Extremely satisfied with the care I received at McLaren Flint as always. Exceptional care from Dr Chambers and the medical team. Couldn't ask for a better group of medical staff. Dr Chambers is the best. I was in good hands.
Great service and staff, my hospital of choice! I know many who feel the same way.
My brother who has asperger's syndrome and was struggling to find work was hired on as a volunteer in their cafeteria. His 2nd week there he was fired because he went in the previous day despite having a cough. For a hospital, they really don't understand people with disabilities, even when they have such a great opportunity to serve their community.
When you have a patient in a Positive Flow Room, because the patient has a wbc count less then 2.0, (Cancer Patient), wouldn't you expect that the RN's would follow the Infection Protocol set for that patient? It is deplorable that you have RN's that IGNORE the protocol: they didn't wash in/out, they didn't wear gloves, not even to administer medicine Intravenously. Why? PLEASE re-train your nurses to exercise due diligence & follow Dr's orders. It really is not that difficult to do. If a lay-person can follow Infection Control procedures, why can't a nurse? Seriously. It's their job to Care, NOT Scare. Dr. Lo is great.but some of those nurses are NOT.
Dr Sutherland is a joke. Sat in a room for 2 hours without being checked on. Wasnt checked on until i asked to speak to the doctor. Doctor comes in and i Was told I was getting a prescription for dissolvable tablets. The nurse came in and i was given a prescription for suppository when I asked to speak to the doctor I was told no thats what she wrote the script for thats what you get. When I flip out and make a scene they finally want to give me their attention. But still refuse to let me speak to the doctor I then called and asked to speak to the doctor regarding my prescription I was told no were calling the police and hung up on me numerous times even told me why dont you just call hurleg we dont deal with your kind. until they finally just handed the sheriff the phone. He was the only one who could even give me 30 seconds of his day for me to ask a question. This place is full of lying, worthless woman who don't Care about their patients at all. Next time I think I'd rather drown in my vomit then to come into this place. Nurses and doctors just sit around their desk and chit chat about their party Friday night. asking for a tissue is too Much to ask from these people. Your right though McLaren I'll be taking myself to Hurley from now on. At least there they will answer your questions and check in on you from time to time.
Shame on you McLaren. My friend was there last week for a lymph node biopsy for possible cancer diagnosis and first of all, you had a male nurse that did nothing but walk around in the preop playing on his cell phone and then after surgery while she was still under the influence of sedation, she had the urge to go to the bathroom and some nurse asked her "well cant you hold it for 2 minutes!!!" really? My friend then proceeded to urinate on herself and all over the bed as she could not feel her muscles correctly yet and what did this nurse do? She came in and just pulled the absorbent pad down from underneath her and leave it on the bed, let alone clean anything up! My friend had to keep holding her legs up so she did not lie in the soiled part and has had back surgery in the past, so it was very difficult for her. You are very lucky that I was not there or security would have been called for the ruckus I would have made. I asked her why she did not say anything, and she just wanted out. That is totally disgusting and degrading to the patient, and this sub par care disgusts me. Shame shame shame on the standards your hospital has set.
My friend was up there she is pregnant and has a fever and tummy pains going on 4 days now. She is there for two hours in the waiting room. She sees people that don't look that bad be seen frist and they got there after her. When she asks how long until she can be seen they told her they don't know or a estimate of how long. She hopes nothing is wrong with the baby and hopes that she don't lose the baby. I'm scared for her I was at Hurley for the same thing in January and I lost the baby because the hospital was slow and didn't say much. I'm glad I didn't go your hospital it maybe the same way. Let's just see how you guys treat her.
After having a bad experience at the hospital, I contacted the patient advocacy department and reported the issues. I was told that they would get back to me the next day or day after. one week later and still have not heard from them.
The wait time is HORRIBLE the service is sicking. I felt no concern for my mother's health was shown. The staff was gathering for conversation rather than work. They continued to LIE about service time. We spent more then four hours (literally) and my mother came in a ambulance. The whole time watching people come in after us and get called back before us. I wouldn't even give them a piece of a star but I have to give at least one to make my post.
Scheduled for surgery at 10 a.m. Daughter dropped me off on her way to work - I insisted she go to work rather than sit here for no reason. Thankfully I changed my mind and brought my phone with me. Had no reason to but boy am I glad I did. Checked in at the required 8 a.m. time and was conveniently told "oh your surgery was changed to 2:00". Now I sit here with no phone charger, can't eat, can't drink and can't smoke - they won't even give me a patch. Sitting in the coldest and most uncomfortable waiting room. If I had cash on me, I would go buy a pack of smokes and if I had house keys with me, I would make McLaren take me back home and then pick me back up. They can't even give me pain medication for the excruciating knee pain that I'm having. I will avoid this place in the future if I can. Was in here for 6 days last year and my call button was not working and there I was couldn't get out of my bed. That's 2 strikes, McLaren. Oh, and they called me on Thursday (today is Tuesday) and wanted me to pay them $4,711 prior to surgery. Really?
Worst experience ever in there mental faculties, I took my wife there for anxiety and depression seeking inpatient treatment and they stressed us both out trying to force a out patient service which obviously drove her anxiety threw the roof and refused the reference we went there to get without ever admitting her or even asking her about the past problems that causes the issues. So disappointed in there facility and will not be returning. If you're after mental help I would not recommend them to anyone
My dad Darryl is in the ICU on life support. He went in for Aorta surgery and now is on life support and they took his colon out as well. Found out they cut the blood of too long and it killed dads colon. Also dad has been there for 30 days and they never put in a feeding tube. Now all his organs are failing😢 My sister is going to take him off support tomorrow but I just want every doctor and nurse know we are asking for an autopsy to see if this was your fault. You left my dad with dead tissue inside and closed him up. Now I'm sure he is getting septic. I know you guys are responsible for all this stuff going on with my dad. When the autopsy comes back that you guys did something wrong and covered it up. There will be hell to pay!!!!!!
