Love Beaumont! We travel 2.5 hrs. one way to come there. My husband has had excellent care from his heart doctor (Dr. Hanson), to other heart surgeons, to his nurses, and to various people who work there that we have had interactions with. One time I was lost and a domestic helper stopped what she was doing and got me back to where I could wait for my husband to come out of surgery. We have gone to several other hospitals over the past 15 years and none compare. I have one request please put in some lockers for caregivers to store their items while they wait for their love ones.

This place has gone down hill. I have been laying in a hospital bed in agonizing pain. I asked for something for nausea and pain. 2 hours still nothing. You feel like a bother to the nurses. I'm very uncomfortable. I will find a better hospital next time.

Don’t understand why I was transferred 6 different times just to schedule an appointment. VERY unprofessional hate calling to schedule better off coming in as a walk in!!! Thanks to the amazing Rachael she was very helpful, scheduled a date and took care of me!!! Go Racheal :) she deserves a bonus!

This Beaumont Hospital is fine. It's biggest negative is trying to get here by bike or on foot. I live about a mile away and the hospital's auto-centric design makes it a safety nightmare. The redevelopment of Northwood was a great opportunity to fix that but they aren't. The hospital's connection to the Woodward transit is equally poor.

So I have become a frequent traveler to Beaumont once again . It started with the birth of my kids and now continues in cancer treatment.
Overall Beaumont is a leading standard for health care. But there always seems to be something that taints the experience.
My most recent example, emergency room visit was quick to act and diagnose. Sent needed samples to labs and suggested to spend the night based on initial results.
5 hours later we are still waiting for a room.
Option to leave and wait at home with next day appointment was scared out of my spouse so we now sit and wait and wait.
Same on last visit. Wait and wait for lab results, results show nothing, pay a lot of money for 4 days in hospital and go home.
More and more it is feeling it is money first and patient comfort and care second.response / report this review -

Horrible, I checked in b/c I have urine infection 2 weeks ago. I had the medication for antibiotics for 10 days, but It doesn't work. It turned me to fever, losing appetite and dizzy. I had to be there again. This time It was a HORRIBLE! I checked in at 8:30pm on Monday night, I had to seat and wait about 2 hours to get in the room(silk cover room for ER). After 2 4 hour with 2 time the nurses come and take the big blood from me. They put me in IV and kept me in the room. Whole night I kept wake up for blood test two times, check temperature, blood pressure. If you are normal people, you will get annoying for that too. I couldn't sleep. Surely I will be dizzy after all night not sleep and couple days not eating well. The doctor should know about that. I just don't really want to stay in there. They are all taking so loud, LAUGHING HORRIBLE. How you do that??? The patient they are in PAIN, They need respectful. After a few times insisted the NURSE and DOCTORS to release me from there. They said they will keep me more for nothing( no X-ray, no CT Scan, just my blood, I got 4 times blood test and 2 time URINE TAKING OUT FROM MY BLADDER, because the 1st NURSE DID NOT KNOW HOW TO DO IT, the 2nd one come to RESCUE after I GOT HURT SO BAD FROM THE 1st one! Great!). So now I just sat on my bed and write this. IT IS A HORRIBLE DECISION I MADE LAST NIGHT. I should not come here.

My experience w/ nursing staff: male nurses were extremely educated, mature,professional, very humble and kind. The women, were very unprofessional, unkind and just wrong a pain to deal with.
One thing that came to mind, is who evaluates the evaluator?? My are these people not filtered out? And why in the he'll are women wi/ purple pink highlighted hair with ear and neck tattoos working in a medical environment , making 30+ and hour. There professional appearance is very questionable.
Beaumont needs restructuring of its nursing department and maybe the hr also!!

For my experiences in the pediatric hematology department,
I've only ever been in this specific department so I'm not sure what the rest of this hospital is like, but this department has some of the nicest nurses/doctors I've ever met. Although it seems sort of slow at times They do everything to make you comfortable, get to know all their patients and seem to genuinely enjoy what they are doing. My grandma worked here for 31 years and after traveling around the US no other hospital has been as well developed as Beaumont.
I was mugged while back in town visiting family for my birthday which resulted in a broken jaw and a further agitated low-back (L5) that has been troubling me for over a year. While having the jaw fixed Dr. Oliver along with at least 30 other staff members I was aware of made my stay enjoyable and fixed me right up.
The consultation for my back was scheduled over a month from now and because of the staffs attentiveness, the team was able to hasten the consultation and it turned out that I was a viable candidate for surgery.
My doctor took the initiative and because of her due diligence (and some luck) the surgery is tomorrow and my prayers have been answered. What was the worst birthday of my life is turning into the best year I could have imagined.
I have considered joining the medical field as I am already a personal trainer and because of this experience I now know exactly what to aim for if I do decide to devote my life to medicine. The quality of the staff here is beyond comparison and now I know why my grandma stayed with this company for over 30 years!response / report this review -

Food service is rude and terrible. Their food is the worse Ever!!! How are patients going to get better when I can't even eat! This is ridiculous and I am very upset with this poor food served and food choices. I am eating like a dog.

This review is catered to Labor and Delivery. 5 starts all the way!!!! The food was amazing, the staff was catering and the anesthesiologist was by far the best! I received an epidural and I felt no pain when he gave the shot, seriously! And he was very fast and efficient. The facility is very clean and the delivery room is beautiful, although you really do not notice when you are in labor. After delivery, however, you start to regain your focus. If you are delivering a baby anytime soon I truly recommend this hospital.

DO NOT TRUST THIS HOSPITAL WITH YOUR INFORMATION!!! This hospital has made SO many mistakes that no hospital should ever make. They have allowed someone to fraudulently receive care under my name, I called to kindly figure out what was going on and after trying to dispute this visit to remove these false records from my medical history, they were extremely unhelpful and did not take me seriously. I was forced to hire a lawyer and since then the hospital has refused to even consider the fact that it was not me when in fact they took this other individuates blood (COMPARE BLOOD TYPES EASY ENOUGH). After examining the account they added ANOTHER charge/ fraudulent visit to my billing statement from November of 2016, 6 months ago and sent this to collections. They have absolutely no system and U of M is only 35 minutes away, even St. Johns is a better choice.

Night ER Nurse Meagan needs help with speaking to the public. She's very rude. She seems to not like people. I asked a simple question and she snapped at me for no apparent reasonmaybe a billing and coding job is best for her, but please stay clear. The ER is not the place to deal with ignorant "professionals".

33 days. That is how long my father was in a coma after being found at home, alone, due to a ruptured cerebral aneurysm. He should not be alive. He should not have made a full recovery. Each and every day, around the clock, during those 33 days, as well as the recovery time after, I felt as though everyone gave more than their best. I can not say enough good things about this facility. They didn't just make my father whole again they made sure I left whole as well. 5 stars just doesn't cover that much above and beyond.
