Fantastic experience. Lived in MC for 20years and never visited. My loss. New place for my wife and I, looking forward to being a regular.

Maxine's is a much loved local dining establishment. Always a well rounded menu with haute classics and updated finishes. The most comfortable dining room in NW Indiana.

Terrible! The lobster bisque the waiter dropped the lid in it did not even offer to get me a new one. The coconut shrimp was raw we send it back they threw it back in the deep fryer then it was burnt. To top it off we had prime rib it was clearly reheated just terrible the mashed potatoes were ice cold the asparagus was cold would never go back again. on top of it all it was Valentine's Day❤

Just checking in and saying that this place is still absolutely fantastic.
We came here and got actually food for the first time, and it was amazing. We split the scallop with risotto, lobster ceviche, and the oysters. Oysters are extremely fresh, and the two main dishes were very tasty. I had eyed the scallop dish the past few times that I have come here and I'm happy that I finally got to have them.
The one thing I will say is that I'm bummed they no longer have the cheese and charcuterie board . . . that was always a great complement for the oysters, but hey it made us get the real food so maybe it was for the best!
We also sat at the bar for the first time, and really loved the bartender.response / report this review -

I don't know why the reviews are not so good this place was great! Food was delicious. Atmosphere astonishing. Waiting staff very helpful. Perfect place to take a date. Prices fair for the portions.
