I've been here twice and can't say enough good things. Great service. Burgers are cooked to order and delicious! The grilled cheese is amazing, along with the egg rolls as an appetizer. Great for groups or alone. Family friendly

Great place to stop on the way into Michigan. Not amazing food, but good, consistent bar food that even has some 'healthier' options. Usually crowded, but you can also usually get a table. Good joint.

Wow! Tried somewhere new while visiting the casinos in the area. Didn't win at the casino but hit the jackpot with The Stray Dog. The food was great and fast service too. We liked it so much it was the first place we ate at and the last. It will be a must do any time I'm in the area. Thanks to The Stray Dog for a great meal!

Food here is so Good! Egg rolls are a must try and burgers are delicious. Always a great experience. Walking distance to the beach and a great place to get a bite to eat after a fun day in the water.

My favorite food of all time is a French Dip, and of the many different restaurants I have had a French Dip at, Stray Dog is by far the best. Even though it is about 2 hrs away from my parent's home, whenever I visit, I always make the drive, it is worth it! I wish I could talk about the other menu items, but the French Dip is so amazing, I can't pass on the opportunity to have another. Great seating indoors and on the roof, but be warned, this place is extremely popular, so you may need to wait- however, with how close you are to the beach, a short walk is a perfect way to pass the time. Overall, an amazing place!!

Went here based on the good reviews. Bad choice. First they had the roof top sitting closed so made for a long wait. Server did an ok job. The jalapeno poppers are ridiculously big, should cut them in half so they are easier to eat. I ordered the fish sandwich based off the high praise and pictures off yelp. When it got to me the fish was crumbling and shushed looking like it was dropped on the floor I wont be stopping by on my next visit out.

We love this place. It's our first time back since their fire and we love it more. Food was great and server was super friendly. Highly recommend the grilled cheese, veggie burger and grouper sandwich. Just an FYI the medium cooked burger is more like medium rare.

Ran into this place by accident on a drive to Chicago and have been back numerous times since then. We've even made New Buffalo an annual summer trip and Stray Dog is one of the reasons why. This is a great little beach-town restaurant with an open rooftop deck and great views of New Buffalo. Cold beer, good (bar) food, and a relaxed atmosphere. Great for families too. This place is always packed when we're there, but it's worth waiting for a few minutes.

Our first visit last year was very good, this year was fantastic. Menu is what you'd expect from a beach restaurant. If you go during season you should expect a wait, this place is a local favorite that doesn't take reservationsbut it is worth it. if weather permits be sure to ask about seating upstairs on the rooftop - sometimes a shorter wait to get seated up there. Staff was friendly, service was fast and food was great. Never felt pressured to rush despite it being a busy day.

Great burger sandwich and pizza options. Excellent service. Food made to order within limits of ingredients listed on the menu. Menu had several vegetarian options.

We wish there was a place like this near our home, it's a great restaurant with something for everyone. They do a good job of managing long waits, and once seated the service is fast and pleasant. There's a broad craft beer selection too. I was going to give them 5 stars, but then they told me that it's $1 for additional tortilla chips with the guac appetizer. Seriously? Otherwise, love it.

This place is my reward every week in the summer when my works hours top out at over 80every Thursday night we come up, walk the beach and then go up to the Stray Dog Rooftop for a cocktail and meal. The cocktails are excellent.For food, the kale salad is my favorite. I also love the Sunset Shrimp. Pizzas are also very good as are the wings. If you feel like breaking the calorie bank the Stray Dog hot dog wrapped in bacon and deep fried is a delicious splurge.
