Great truly Italian food. Lobster cocktail is highly recommended. The Mare stuffed lobster is suitable for at least 4 persons. Everything is fresh and tasty.
Great restaurant with great menu. The athmosphere is great. The decor is very nice. Family friendly, you can also bring a date or have a work outting in this place. Tried their version of paella, i highly recommend it. Good wine menu. Staff is very nice too, beru friendly. Down a small alley way on the Boston North End
Oysters are great. I tried seafood pasta and wasn't great. Looks very upscale, you could expect better food
The best oysters EVER! So fresh and yummy! Highly recommend this place! Make a reservation because it is crowded! A must when in Boston!
Service was great! Food was delicious but nothing spectacular! I got the gnocchi and enjoyed it, and the portions were big. I'd go with a creamier dish next time like the lobster ravioli, or mushroom pasta, both looked amazing!
Great oysters which the name delivers on. Everything else taste for price not worth it. Real pretentious place
Food, atmosphere and drinks were incredible. Amazing restaurant in Boston
The food and ambiance were terrific! Great hidden gem in the North End. The only reason it doesn't get a full five stars was because out service was definitely a little spotty. Our server took forever to get to our table, took our order, then forgot that he took and asked to take our order (and we were like uh, we just ordered 5 minutes ago) and then we really didn't seem him again and had to ask for the check. Maybe he was just having a bad day?
Love the outdoor lounge area. Good selection of drinks. Great place to go with a few friends.
Be aware, this is an oyster presentation review only. The oyster selection, staff, regular menu and establishment overall was 5 star all the way. Our bartender Adina was BEYOND welcoming and wonderful & the women at hostess stand could not have been more helpful, friendly & sincerely lovely. The oyster shucker however did a pretty poor job: a bit of shell found in each oyster ordered, he crowded the plate, spilled the liquor out of most of the shells and a bunch were not fully shucked. Mignonette was weak also - scant on the shallots.
Overall an excellent dining experience. This place is hidden away at the end of an alley way without any obvious signs. But what a find it is!
The team working here are extremely friendly and accommodating (courteous enough to move us to a more comfortable area for formal dining when the space opened up instead of giving it to newcomers). Food is fresh and delicious at a very reasonable price (most entrees on the $20s range). If I had to nitpick, the seafood tower was the only dish that could've been better - the oysters weren't as good as it could have been (a bit on the dry side). Their grilled calamari appetizer is worth a try! They also have lambs and steaks if your party contains seafood averse eaters. I'll definitely stop by again next time I'm in town.
Tip: you may want to make reservation. This place is packed when we went on a Thursday night.
Tip 2: there's are two fireplace seats in the back. First comes first served. Good for cocktail and light snacking.
Tip 3: try their espresso martini. It's great!
Dinner was delicious, truffle encrusted tuna was amazing. Raw oysters were fresh and cold. One of the best meals I have had in a long time.
Great experience here, sort of unexpected too. The place is at the end of a small alleyway and you wouldn't expect such an upscale-looking place there. I loved the semi outdoors area with lounge seating and fire pits. We sat at a regular table as it was a formal dinner. Service is quite good and professional. We shared oysters (very fresh and wide selection) and burrata (best I've had so far in the US) and after I had the blackened cod which was spectacular, it melted in the mouth and was perfectly cooked. We were four people and had two shared starters, a bottle of wine, a shared dessert and a main course each, and we paid around 60 per person, so not too bad. Definitely a place to keep in mind.
