The food was great and so was the service. Would definitely recommend and go back myself. Delicious!!
Ordered ahi tuna and there was shellfish in it. They didn’t advertise on the menu that there would be. Had to rush home and use my epipen because my throat was starting to close up. Manager still made us pay for our meal meanwhile he could be facing a lawsuit sometime soon. Beware
Very pretty. Restaurant is upscale. But food not very good. The kid's cheeseburger & fries were better than the salad, crab cake, & lobster bisque. Tomato veg soup was very good. Service was not as good as expected in an upscale place.
Tomatoes were rotten in the salad. Croutons were from a box, even though the menu said they were homemade. The "special" which was crab legs cost $60 and our waiter did not warn us about the price. Something clearly not right about this place as almost nobody was in there. Never will go back again.
We were just there for an anniversary dinner. The shrimp was overcooked, the crab/lobster-topprd scallops were burned, and the whole carrots were so undercooked they were impossible to slice! Extremely disappointing for such an upscale and pricey (meals were approximately $40 each).
Ordered the sea bass , scallops, and shrimp with a side of the asparagus risotto. Plus portobello appetizer. All were excellent. Josh was such a great server/bartender. Great wine suggestions and excellent mixed drinks. Not the place to check out if you're on a McDonald's budget. But, well worth the money. Loved the view and the grounds were spotless.
Thistle Lodge was a really nice dinner for my wife and I. Pretty fancy, and expensive which you should know going in. We both had seafood, which was superb. I'd actually pass on the bisque next time... it was good but not great. The small chocolate dessert was very nice. Very nice atmosphere as well.
Get a reservation, for sure.
The food was delicious and not the same old same old. I ordered the sea bass, scallops, and shrimp. Although it was delicious the sea bass was very tiny and there was 1 scallop and 2 shrimp. Overall however, the service was terrific and the food was good.
Superb view, very good food. It's worth going to, but we did not get service commensurate with a top level fine dining restaurant. Wait staff was excellent too. What didn't work? It looked like it was either understaffed or not well managed on the floor. At any rate, everything took too long and so our experience was not quite what we were looking for and what we think we should have gotten. We were disappointed, but if the positives outweigh the negative for you, you should be pleased-as many people are.
We had some major issues with the service, which the shift manager failed to remedy. However, the restaurant director was very helpful and apologetic. The food itself was excellent, full of flavor, with nice presentation. We've had great service in the past, and suspect this was an anomaly, rather than something one would experience often.
I would give no stars if it was an option. Went there today for brunch with seven people, sat down at 1:15 pm got our food at 2:25pm. All the meals where cold. They did remake them, took another 35 mins. Service was terrible, and the manager was about the most un professional I have ever met. The waitress was useless and un caring, food was mediocre at best Would never, ever go back there again..
Fantastic restaurant that overlooks the shoreline. They also have a pool bar named Coconuts that has live entertainment and awesome frozen drinks.
Always a great meal and great service in an old Florida resort style setting. The views from the restaurant overlook the gulf and offer a nice place to walk after your meal.
