Started off with fried green tomatoes and boiled peanut hummus, followed by the beets, all of which were incredible. For dinner, we had the duck and braised ribs and both were absolutely phenomenal. Finished off with 4 different desserts and the house-made eggnog. We were ready to burst but couldn't stop eating.
The food here is an amazing quality, with service to match. Great fancy place to take a date or your in-laws :)response / report this review -

Charleston has great restaurants and Magnolia's is among the best. It is known as Uptown Down South. We are especially food of the shellfish and grits, the fried chicken and the fish with creek shrimp and pirloo rice. A recent special that was divine was the trout. Brunch on the weekend is nice. The service is always impeccable and the ambience is wonderful. Don't miss this one!

Nice atmosphere. My wife's tuna was very good. My chicken was ok. Tasted like the fry oil was old, but they guaranteed me they change it every shift. I have me reason to doubt them. Expected better. I would like to give it another try.

It was OK+. Nice restaurant, if a bit on the dark side (romantic, I suppose). Very creative menu and lots to choose from. The almond brie was excellent, and so was the cherry bread pudding. The service was great too. The main meal, in my case braised beef and noodles, was good. But not spectacular or memorable. It was one of just 2 dinners I had in Charleston and perhaps it just paled in comparison to dinner the night before at The Drawing Room which was so superb the night before. I have no regrets about it, but on my next trip I will experiment with other $$$ of $$$$ restaurants before returning to Magnolias to try other menu items.

Wow my fish was amazing! The combination of sides and sauce was perfect. Best thing I ate in Charleston. I had Parmesan crusted market catch. Perfect. My wife had the buttermilk chicken dish. This was also tasty. Not the best fried chicken I’ve had in the south, but still very nice. The fried green tomatoes and seafood deviled eggs were also terrific!

The best brunch I've ever had! The stuffed french toast is amazing! The service is perfect as well. Definitely worth a stop! There is free parking in the lot next door for brunch on Sundays as well!

My dish wasn't everything I was expecting, however my husband loved his seafood dish was delicious according to him. If you're a seafood lover you will enjoy your meal. Ambience was also nice for a nice evening out. Service was on point.

The Food was excellent! My wife and I came here for our baby moon and tried some southern food. Mark the waiter recommended the Fried Chicken and Fried Green Tomatoes. I'm not a guy that orders fried chicken or tomatoes at a restaurant, but I'm glad I went southern this morning and took his recommendations! Food and Service A++

Stopped in for just a few appetizers to see if Magnolias lived up to all of the hype. They have great attention to detail in the presentation and flavors of their dishes. For the price the proportions are generous and the presentation resembles that of a very high end restaurant. Would definitely come back for a main course.

The food is amazing and the severe are very nice. Mother's Day was awesome! The Banana Pudding Stuffed French Toast w/ Peanut Butter Syrup and Thick cut bacon was a DELICIOUS!! OMG!!! The Buttermilk Fried Chicken,Greens and Homemade Mashed Potatoes was excellent!! Last but not lease the Homemade Potato Chips were fantastic!!

My mom had the chicken livers which she loved and I had the fried green tomato app. What a burst of flavor in your mouth! It was really good, but a lot of food for one person for an app, it could easily be a meal. My mom then had their fried oyster special and I had their smoked salmon deviled eggs. The fried oysters were great and the deviled eggs were sub par, not bad but nothing special. We would go back!

Fabulous Shrimp Scallops and grits! Also had the blue crab soup and Caesar salad which were magnificent. Had the fried chicken breast with mashed potatoes, corn, collards and biscuits (without the gravy) and was so pleased! They were also very allergy friendly. Just make a reservation!
