Creepy, bed was like a rock, pool was not heated. But had a decent hot tub, and reasonable price.
Clean rooms, very cheap, spa and swimming pool, breakfast with muffins, juice, coffee and wonderful staff
Cheap especially for the area. Nothing to fancy. Tv is kinda old, and room was kinda small but decent for the price.
First off, I read reviews on hotels religiously. That's why I try to be as real as possible on them. And I'm so tired of seeing people complain about things that the hotel staff itself, cannot control. Like bugs. Mosquitoes, fly's, spiders, etc. Right now, its summertime, there's bound to be some insects wherever you go. Is your house completely free of them? No, no it is not. To complain about those types of bugs in your room, is just rediculous and a waste of everyone's time. Not to mention, this hotel has its rooms on the outside. Good luck finding a hotel without those types of bugs. With that said, check in was a little unusual because we had to walk to the hotel next door in order to do so. I get why they do it though. They cut down on their costs so they can pass the savings to us. Which is another thing, people seem to ignore that they're finding a hotel in a huge tourist town, that is deeply lower priced than most others. It is a budget hotel. It smelled a little musty upon arrival. Once we were in and out a couple times, that seemed to go away. The room was clean, no bed bugs. It is outdated, but if you're on a budget, it's perfect. We simply went there to sleep, so we didn't check out the pool or any other facilities. It's very close to many of the attractions of Mackinaw City, yet, nice and quiet. The staff were all extremely polite and helpful. We will certainly stay again.
The absolute worst place I have ever stayed. The room smelled awful. The room smelled like mold so bad that I very seriously contemplated going to sleep in my car. The television had one channel and the linens on the bed were very gross. The mattress was absolutely terrible as well. The shower had no hot water. With the amount of tourists coming through Mackinaw City along with their relatively high rates for being a "Budget Inn," you would think they could afford to upgrade from the 1980's decor. I would not recommend this motel even if you are only staying for one night.
It's a very nice motel, the room is very clean, your not far from Mackinac city. I will stay here again
Location is perfect with everything less than 1 mile from the hotel. There is no hot tub anymore in the pool room. There's dead bugs in the hallway that aren't being cleaned up. The room we had was great, Wi-Fi was great. Other than the building being run down and bug infested in the hallway, it's okay. For me personally, I wouldn't come back. Very limited breakfast options and no hot tub when it was advertised changed my mind about coming back to the hotel.
I only stayed one night, but almost everything was fine. I'm sure if I'd complained about the broken window lock (room 114), I could have got another room, but at that point in the evening I didn't want to pack up all my stuff again. I'd stay there again, I was interested in the Headlands Dark Sky Park, which is 10 minutes away, and it's very close to the bridge and lighthouse, I could have walked.
We had a wonderful time. They made our stay wonderful. We booked online and noted we were on a mini moon and they made our stay that much more special by have flower petals in the room. A little fruit, meat and cheese tray, and sparkling wine. That little stuff really made us feel that much more special. It was wonderful. Everything was clean as well and everyone was very friendly.
Rooms were decent, little dated with small tube tv's. Lighting was dim, towels scratchy but rooms were clean. Indoor pool was good. Indoor whirlpool seems like it's on its last legs. Outdoor pool was green and gross. Breakfast was pretty basic with oatmeal and a toaster as the only "hot" options.
