Losing a loved one is never easy. There are so many decisions to be made, all while grieving! Roger, Margaret, and the rest of the staff at Macken Mortuary went above and beyond my expectations.They truly cared. They were professional, patient, kind, and compassionate through the whole process as my family celebrated my mom’s life. Thank you to this wonderful team!

5 stars? Not enough! To describe the compassionate help, patience, attention, and financially realistic (because goodness knows new york cremation is normally not!) that Margaret of New Leaf Cremation afforded us in the very difficult process of losing my Dad. There are no end to the positive things I have to say about working with Macken Morturary (not quite as much with the NJ location, which is lovely when you get inside) but the facilities, staff, process, and pricing at New Leaf with Margaret are the bees knees, as Dad would say! If all of what I said wasn't enough, I'll say this: I picked up the planning packet and will be making pre-arrangements for myself there with (cremation at their LI location!) We wish to thank the staff of Macken Mortuary for helping our family make the arrangements for my mother's funeral. Roger and Jeff were wonderful - extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and understanding - while guiding us through this most difficult time. They were there for us every step of the way. Our mass at St. Agnes was a beautiful and seamless extension of the funeral, and those who attended remarked about the peaceful and beautiful service and surroundings. Once again, we convey our deep gratitude . We could not have asked for a more wonderful tribute to a most wonderful mom.

I would like thank Jeff, Margaret, Karen, Paul and the rest of the staff at Macken Mortuary. They were extremely helpful, empathetic, and made the whole experience stress free for us during our difficult time. The service was absolutely beautiful and we felt that we had given my mother the farewell that she so deserved.

My father’s funeral was a beautiful experience. It was a truly devastating time for my family, but we felt very comforted and supported going through this experience with Macken Mortuary. The staff was very caring and empathetic. Even during COVID times, Macken Mortuary was very accommodating and helped guide us through, every step of the way. Our funeral mass was held at St. Agnes Cathedral, which was right next door. The convenience was accompanied by the beauty and solace of the cathedral. It was obvious the church and funeral staff worked together often; it was a seamless and comforting transition. My family was completely blown away by how beautiful and perfect everything was on that day to honor our dad.
