Best Cruise line , Beautiful Ships and the most safe cruise line to sail during covid 19 break-out . that only cruise line & 1st CDC approved to sail back in sep 2020.
On 08/20/2020 I made the purchase of a week on the cruise ship Meraviglia of the MSC company to vacation with my family for my birthday, in the week of December 5-12, 2020, for an amount of $ 1603.00, with a credit card credit. On 05/11/2020 I received an email where they canceled me from the shipping company that week, (just a month before setting sail) and they offered me a voucher worth $ 1562.00 to use in the next 18 months on one of their cruises , who have no idea when they will start to set sail due to the covid-19 epidemiological situation, my vacations were planned for a long time, just like two families and friends who decided to travel together and who are also today in the same situation as When I contact the cruise company, they say they will not refund my money and they will not attend to my complaint and they simply hang up on my call, the sales agent who attended me is called Mariana, she can do nothing about it, He puts himself in my situation and understands that I am absolutely right but he cannot help me to get my money back. My contract number
It is N ° 103446618, I also have all the payment receipts made on time, and the email of cancellation of my contract as well as the voucher where clearly and shamelessly they make owners of a budget that my family and I cost a lot to gather.
I have been very patient with this whole situation but honestly they don't help there case. Fill the form to get my refund for the cruise on March, still waiting for my money. Everytime I call I get a different story and nobody is able to give me a concrete answer. Already contacted my bank and also my lawyer. This is totally out of control. Reps are super rude and even hang-up the phone when you ask for explanations. Necwe again will be dealing with this line.
Still waiting on that refund day 71 now. Canceled way before everything started to blow up. Called MSC spoke with 3 different people and guess what they don’t even know where the refund is either. I’ve been polite about the whole situation and have been very calm, but come on that has gotten out of hand now. I know people that have canceled their cruises by different cruise lines and they got their refunds in less than 2 weeks. They canceled about month ago. I canceled the beginning of February.
Second time on this ship. Food was fantastic, Shows were great and we had a great time. There were a couple small issues with getting off the ship at a port. Need better control over people. Price was a great value for what you get. I recommend MSC and would cruise with them again.
I've been on five cruises with MSC so far and have always been pleased with the ship and it's staff. Taking the inaugural cruise on the Seaside this fall and am looking forward to it.
Google "MSC cruises Consumer Affairs complaints" and read about this cruise line. I don't think anyone in their right mind would use this company. Crazy bad complaints about staff, theft, illness, long lines, and VERY POOR service. I was going to book their around the world cruise but not anymore. Yikes.
We took the MSC Meraviglia cruise and it was awful. We have never been on a cruise, however we travel a lot and expected much more for the price that we paid. First of all, the constant lines and crowds of people everywhere was quite unpleasant. We were faced daily with lots of impolite people who were constantly shoving everyone, and kids who had no manners at all, cut you off in lines and ran all over the ship. The service wasn't the best either. Our server at the sit down restaurant and our cabin attendant were awesome and super welcoming, and we met some nice staff but mostly they all acted like they were doing you a favour. It was also quite disorganized- there was no information session for what to do on board, how to use the services, and the lines to get your questions answered were always very long. The food quality depended on the day. The breakfast and dinner options were very limited, but lunch was usually good. The sit down restaurant had some okay options as well.
One issue we encountered was with the internet. We paid 70 euros for the internet which was supposed to last all cruise and spent it all in one phone call and a couple of messages with pictures. Again, it wasn't fully communicated to us that you had to turn off your internet when you're done, so we used it up very quickly. However, when we went to ask at reception why this was, they simply told us that it was just the way it was and that internet is expensive aboard.
The ship did have a good itinerary-we enjoyed all of the ports. However there could have been more information about what to do if you don't buy an excursion. There were shuttle busses provided but other than that not much information. We took an excursion to Pompeii which was very interesting and good. However we also did one to Portofino and it was very expensive for what it was - a 1 hour boat ride along the shore and time on your own to explore. Also, we didn't like the constant pressure to return to the ship at a certain time. (But that's just a personal preference against cruises in general)
The ship did also have exceptional theatre shows every night with very talented singers, dancers and a band.
Rates for cruise and price for drinks on board were very competitive. Embarkation was absolutely terrible, complete with a 2 hour wait. Food was good including pizza anytime you want. Ship was beautiful and maintained well. Seemed to be louder in the rooms than other cruises I've been on, but could just be the clientele on the particular cruise. Itineraries need some more thought and upgrade. Service was sub-par from the mainstream lines and seem to be understaffed. Would consider trying again as long as prices stay competitive.
I had an excellent experience in the MSC Divina. The staff, facilities, and food were all top notch. I was impressed with the organization and efficiency of the entire operation.
Loved the ship!s layout and decor as well as the smooth embarkation and disembarkation. We had a balcony cabin on deck 12 midship which was quite beautiful and roomy. The theatre shows were extremely professional and were quite enjoyable, especially the Michael Jackson Tribute on the last night. Finding a deck or poolside chair was usually done within minutes ( Garden area on deck 15 aft was our favourite ) as was finding a table in the buffet area when we went there.
However, having done over 30 cruises and with this being our first on MSC, we found several shortcomings ( to us anyway).
On day 1 we asked our cabin steward to please have ice in our room at all times ( put the ice bucket in the cabin room fridge ) and to leave 2 glasses in our room at all times.
I ended up having to go down to the bar on deck 10 every afternoon to get get ice and had to call room service 5 out of the 7 days to bring us a couple glasses ( the used glasses having been removed by the cabin steward and not replaced). This was the first time we encountered this. Not a major problem but an inconvenience nevertheless, especially when customer service is so highly advertised.
Other differences we found were the scarcity (non existence really) of live bands throughout the ships' bars. They did have a pianist and a sometimes violinist in the main atrium in the evenings but that was the extent of "live music".
As mentioned before the theatre shows were excellent but there were no other entertainers such as guest speakers or comedians which we found on other cruise lines.
Another plus we found was that there was no smoking allowed in the casino but again that's a personal preference.
My wife did have an issue with the internet service which we felt was not resolved in a professional manner. After paying $29.99 for 24 hours of internet it was cut off after less than 2 hours. When she asked for an explanation at the service desk she was treated very rudely by a lady called Sara (she said she was a supervisor) who told my wife "not to expect your money back!". My wife wasn't looking for her money back.just an explanation as to why she was told the internet service was for 24 hours only to have it cut off after 1 and 1/2 hours.
In talking with other passengers we met on this cruise we found that this particular lady as well as other members of the ships staff were very uncooperative and difficult to deal with.
While I realize this problem is not unique to this ship/cruiseline this is the first time we have encountered it.
Will we cruise with this cruise line again? We are not sure. We generally purchase a cruise based on the ship rather than the ports to which it travels. Will we get the same type of service on another MSC ship as we did on the Divina? Some of our "complaints" might be just with this ship ( cabin service and central desk service) while others ( live bands, guest entertainers) might be common to all MSC ships..
I guess we'll end up sailing with the cruiseline that we feel is better suited to our preferences.
Went with my family, and have a great time. No regrets, would do again but looking forward for more broader range in destination.
The ship is beautiful, Affordable. The cabins are big and nice. Entertainment is amazing!, but the food and service are mediocre. Dinner buffet selection is very limited. The ship crew is very apathy.
We have cruised on MSC cruises two times, both times were in the YachtClub, both cruises were very pleasant and enjoyable, but this review is not about the cruise itself but the customer service I received when I called to cancel the future cruise. I spoke with the customer representative which was very rude and not willing to help, when I saw that she wasn't going to help me I asked for a supervisor to my disappointment she was actually a lot worse than the rep before her. I explained my situation and asked her to cancel my cruise. After waiting for 2 1/2 weeks with no credit showing on my credit card account I decided to call back. I spoke with a different agent that told me that there is no record of me ever contacting MSC, when I proceeded to tell him the date and the time of my previous call, he started arguing with me telling me that there would be a "timestamp" on my account shown what time I spoke with an agent and since there wasn't one there is no way I spoke with somebody with their company. Having cruised over 40 times with other cruise lines, I would say that this is the first time I've been treated like this. I hope MSC takes comments like this very seriously and changes the way customer reps speak with customers, until then I will be spending my money with the competitors.
Have had a very good time each time I have been on the Divina. Will be doing my third cruise this coming Sept. MSC lacks a few things that could be done to make it better but over all MSC is really good. You have to understand that MSC is for Europeans over all and not meant for North Americans. I was told that their new ship which will be coming out at the end of next year is the Seaside and is being built to serve North Americans and not the Europeans. So, look forward to going on that ship when it comes to Miami. Rev. Hager
Having sailed on the Divina to Bermuda, I will say the ship is beautiful. The stateroom quite adequate. That's all the good I could say about the ship. The buffet was always cold and repetitive. The dinners were just maybe OK. the most disappointing was the lack of interaction of the staff. Never being acknowledged or a simple greeting at dinner. We felt as if we were just shuffled in and out like unwanted guests. The only redeeming factor was the
nice people we met sharing the same feelings about the service. Also, Anthony and Sheldon in the casino bar did their best to keep us happy. Best of service and attention. Not sure I'd revisit MSC.
