This hike was brutal! And there is misinformation on the washington trails website about the distance - the website says it's 4.7 miles one way, in fact it's 6.25 one way making it a total of 12.5 round trip. Although very challenging, the finish line of this hike was an impeccable reward! Absolutely loved the views (see pictures I added). The Canada fire smoke still lured in the mountain ranges but you could still see the beauty! During the hike, you will come across two very thick sections of overgrown flowers/marsh type plants. There are some thorns so be careful. There s also a lot of bees, hornets, yellow jackets, and horse flies in these sections. I got bit a few times so come prepared! The lookout is worth it! Also bring lots of water, this hike is very steep the first half, then it kind of lessens the grade, then when you cross the second meadow field/marsh it gets steep again.
