Why do the same old boring dinner. A small or large business dinner sure to be hit with this cozy and historic restaurant. Good food with great conversation. Able to handle large groups. Call ahead and reserve one of the historic rooms.

Wayside Inn is slipping. An hour to get waited on. Problems in the kitchen. Problems with wait staff. Manager walked by our table 6 times to take care of the irate couple behind us but did not stop to assure us or explain to us what the situation was. Food finally came and was cool. Dessert was free but our annual Christmas get together was disappointing overall. Next year's get together may be somewhere different.

Fantastic traditional food in a historic location. As a Brit I would call this a perfect place for a Sunday Lunch. The prime rib is excellent and I was told the salmon was equally good. Vegetarian options were also excellent and incredibly tasty. It is a bit pricey but worth it.

300 years and running! Have been here before to visit the Grist Mill and the Schoolhouse and have had drinks in the bar but ate in the restaurant the night before Thanksgiving and had a great experience. The food and service were wonderful and the server suggested a really great English ale which was just fantastic. The rooms for dining with larger groups (10-20) are really neat - fireplaces, low ceilings and wide planked wood floors. Such a great place. Make sure you go during the day and take a tour.

Went for lunch, which was very tasty. All our table had great food, from fish to lamb to steak. Sides were tasty, and dessert, too. Good choice, warm service! Very picturesque surroundings and it was easy to find.

I've been visiting this restaurant for many years. Other than the historical aspect it has it's also very cozy and during holidays they have hot apple cider -a must have! They also serve gluten free foods! Sadly there isn't much choices in vegetables and as someone on a paleo diet it is very difficult to have a satisfying meal.

First, it is both and INN and a Restaurant. Both are very impressive. The dinner was wonderful, service outstanding and very accommodating. Enjoyed the history, the tour (self paced or with employee). The entire establishment is on 120 acres of history with out building you can also visit and tour. Several pictures included of both the Inn and the out laying buildings.

Great food, good service, huge portions. We dined here on a Sunday evening and were, therefore, able to have the Sunday dinner. The Sunday dinner consists of a starter, entree and dessert for a fixed price (about $21/person). When one considers the amount of food one gets for their meal, this is a great deal. The wayside inn also serves freshly made corn muffins. The cornmeal used is milled using their own Grist Mill on the property. Visitors may come view this mill in action during it's visiting hours May-October from 9-5.

Made a reservation about 45 minutes beforehand, which they gladly accepted. We were seated promptly and got drinks, all of which were reasonably priced. They gave a delicious Cristina with a cheese dip and butter which were amazing. After ordering our dinner, they brought out various muffins and rolls. Almost every entree is $25, which may be a tad expensive for some, but I felt reasonable, if not generously inexpensive for the type of establishment they are. Every dish was delicious, and my duckling was moist with very flavorful sides. The desserts were marvelous, especially my Indian pudding. The staff was very attentive and always made sure we had filled drinks and were taken care of. Our party spent around $50-60 per person. I would recommend and will be back.

Very quaint and charming place with gorgeous decor and real old world ambience. The food was outstanding and the drinks were delicious. I highly recommend the Meeting House punch. Our server, Mariana, was extremely helpful and made some great recommendations.

While not large, the menu has a good variety of traditional New England fare mixed in with some more updated options. The appetizers and entrees were all excellent, particularly the clam chowder and turkey dinner. The drink selection could have been larger but was hardly disappointing. Service was also great, attentive and prompt. Decor in the dining rooms was inconsistent. The larger room looks like a recent addition and lacks the colonial charm of the rest of the inn, but the smaller ones feel very much in place with their large floorboards and fireplaces.

This is a antiquated institution to say the least, however that should be anticipated beforehand if you make the bizarre choice to dine here. I would avoid their restaurant as the service is laughable and the food quite mediocre, especially for the price. Our waitress was impressively rude and gruff with all manners of her service. Apparently you're supposed to know what kind of potatoes you want with dinner, even though they're not listed, or else you're met with a rapid fire rebuttal of choices lined by insulted cadence. Every question was answered with unwarranted hostility. Once she sulked her way around our large table, we received the appetizers half an evening later. The period of time between courses was incredible, and by dessert, our party was dreaming of exodus.

There was another waitress who was very nice and accommodating, who made appearances when ours was absent. This respite was appreciated, however your time and money will be wasted at this eatery.
