Booked a smoking room at this place and paid for a 2 nite stay. Upon opening the door, the smell of stale cigarettes was so overwhelming it made me sick. Went back to the office and asked for a non smoking room but was told there were none available. Was given another smoking room that was even worse than the first. This one stunk like stale cigarettes mixed with hospital disinfectant. Went back to office and asked for a refund, but was denied and offered a can of air freshener instead. Ended up leaving and booking a room at The Park Inn a few miles down the road for $30 more a night and the difference was like night and day. Would never recommend Chalk Hill Lodge to anyone.
Really quaint little motel close by the Laurel Caverns and Nemacolin Woodlands and Spa. I enjoyed my stay very much, and it is very worth the price. Definitely recommend and will stay again.
I thoroughly enjoyed this place. Nothing fancy, but it was clean and you could tell they were starting to put some money into it. The staff was VERY friendly and the breakfast was pretty good for a small motel. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.
Not sure how this place got such high reviews. My family and I stayed for 2 nights. we each have specific but different allergies which include cats, mold, dust mights.and the 3 of us were extremely suffering. Our room stunk of mold! Yuck.
Breakfast was mehhhhtoast, cereal, etc. no cream for the coffee, and dinky small paper plates.
Location was easy. Staff was average. Dogs allowed for an extra 20$ /night fee. Not worth it!
Too bad too. Place has potential.
Very affordable. Clean room with a great view of a pond and a nice outdoor Deck with each room. Nice compound area with areas to walk. Would recommend this hotel and stay again.
It is very cozy. Nice rooms. Great view. And very close to a lot of the attractions in the area. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that is going to be in the area. And can't wait to take the kids.
Clean, cabin- style rooms with a small, semi private deck out back that overlooked a lake. Breakfast is bananas, basic toast and bagels, hot coffee and cold cereal.
The hotel is about what you would expect from a budget hotel. The units are outside rather than bring one large building. There.is.a continental breakfast which is cheap but better than nothing. The central location is a real plus here as it is conveniently located for any of the attractions in the area. I would certainly stay here again as it fits my budget, is clean, and is convenient.
This hotel was great for the comfort and location and price! The room was comfortable, liked the deck overlooking lake(100 section rooms only i believe). The pillows werent great but it was decent for what you paid for. We went to see falling water and it was only 15-20 to the location and near a lot of beer stores and restaurants(most close around 8 or 9 so be careful!).
Room was clean and comfortable enough. Breakfast was adequate. View did not live up to it's billing. Good price & convenient location.
