Good BBQ, but not comparable to Phil's. But hey! You don't have to wait in line for an hour. Time is money, so your cost at Phil's BBQ keeps going up the longer you wait. So if you are in Chula Vista or National City try this BBQ joint and you will not be disappointed.

Don't waste your time with this restaurant. Customer service sucks big time. They advertise that they open at 11am. My friends and I came at exactly 11am and they were not open. We saw somebody working inside but they didn't even acknowledge us. We waited for 20 minutes and decided to go somewhere else. I called at 11:45 am to ask why they didn't open on time and the lady who answered gave me a lame response "we are open now." Very unapologetic.

The ribs are great..the sides not so much. I took friends to eat there today at 11:00 when they open but we left at 11:30 because they still were not open. So sad

Ordered off the family menu and it was excellent. Rack of baby back ribs, 5 large beef bones, 1/2 chicken with 4 large sides. We had fries, coleslaw and 2 orders of baked beans. Generous serving for 4 people and had leftovers. Casual atmosphere, great bbq!

The food is excellentlarge portions. Ribs fall off the bone, the pork sandwich is tender and flavorful. The BBQ sauce has a bit of a kick. The macaroni salad is full of flavor and just the right amount of mayo to be moist but not soupy. Baked beans are sweet and spicy.

I love barbeque, and Li'l Alex has the BEST pulled pork sandwiches I've ever had! Prices are reasonable, too.

Great portion sizes and great smokey flavor on the beef ribs and tri-tip. The sauce is good, but I would have preferred it on the side.

The Best BBQ South of the 805/54 freeways.On Point. TVs throughout to watch your favorite sports. Small but adequate bar with Nice brew selections. Treat yourself!

Wow! This place is really good. I'm in Chula Vista and didn't want to make the drive to Point Loma to go to Phil's so I opted to try Lil Alex's out. Lets just say I have an new BBQ spot. Three reason's why I'll go back. 1) The BBQ is great plus the proportion is generous. 2) Not crowded, at which is a plus some places you can wait 35-45 minutes to sit. 3) Its close proximity to my area and right off the highway. If you debating on going, trust me, just give the a try.

We waited 20 minutes for our food. I asked the waitress what was taking so long and she said it depends on how many tickets they have, now I could understand that if it was packed but the place was completely empty!
