My name is Tony Minnick I was at Lewis Gale Mont for 3 days after a near death event and could not have been treated better. The staff and the nurses were all very professional and comforting. It was a really scary time for me and it was really nice to have folks who understood what I was going through and who showed kindness in helping me get through it.

The past years I’ve been coming and going I’ve been be so disgusted and so disappointed in my life. 12 years ago this hospital misdiagnosed my biological mother and and week and one day later she died. Then my adopted mom broke her shoulder and it took 3 Incompetent EMS member to put her on the stretcher which took 2 hrs. The nurses were rude disrespectful and they had very uncle attitudes. Me well I was rushed to this disappointment of a hospital to be here for 5 hrs with out being diagnosed. Bloody uren and the worse sever pain I’ve every been in. Well they sent me home the very next day I was sent back and then I was on the surgery table having my appendix removed. And today, my mom is super dehydrated. She’s at some points unresponsive I was told by a nurse that “it’s the best place to be to pass out” like what in the world it’s never good to pass out? She was needless to say she was rude!! I absolutely HATE this hospital now if Roanoke was closer I’d be there instead!

Went in with an abscessed tooth
Checked the website that said 4 minute wait time I was seen 2 hours later not by a doctor but by a physician's assistant who immediately informed me that they would not be giving me pain medication even though I hadn't asked for it Then proceeded to write me a prescription for penicillin that I have taken as directed and here I sit 3 days later jaw still just as swollen as when I went in. In horrible pain and will be forced to go
elsewhere for treatment
I wouldn't send an animal for treatment at this sham of a hospital I hope something happens soon to better the services here or they need to be shut downresponse / report this review -

I have visited this ER twice in the past two months and have had nothing but amazing experiences. I have a pretty bad phobia of needles and when I said that to the nurses, they worked with me and made me feel calm and collected when I needed local anesthetic and an IV. Both doctors were thorough in their explanations of my issues and I left feeling so much better both times.
Then, I got follow up calls to make sure I was doing okay the very next day I was discharged. I will never go to another hospital besides this one as long as I can.response / report this review -

We went here for the birth of our daughter. I never imagined I could have had such a good birth experience. The nurse with me during delivery was amazing and reassuring. Every staff member I had contact with, from nurses, support staff to house cleaning were all amazing and kind, always putting our needs first.

We have always had good experiences there. We have been there MANY times!! Recently I freaked out thinking something was in my son's ear and rushed him to the ER at 11pm. There was nothing. They saw him quickly anyway in a separate room away from the sick, coughing, kids and didn't treat me like I was a crazy mom. He saw a Dr. who checked to make sure he was healthy and sent us home. I get the bill soon after and they only placed it under a routine checkup because that's what they did. I was so thankful for that! Would've cost me a fortune for nothing! My husband also went in for gallstones and they saw him super fast when he was in immense pain. They set us up for a payment plan to pay that one off and are so kind to do that and have patience with us. Great hospital and staff! Going To have my baby there soon at their birthing center and I'm looking forward to it! I had 2 babies there already and have always been treated so well and fed well too!

Horrible. I was in a horrible car accident 2 weeks ago, hit a tree flipped car 3-4 times, landed upside down and was trapped in vehicle for a bit. Had a large laceration on the back of my head, HUGE hematoma on my forehead and many other bumps on my head, bleeding in multiple places. They didn't treat any of my injuries or tell me not to fall asleep. They would not let me go to the bathroom, even when I was crying and begging for help. I ended up urinating myself 3 times in the bed. No one helped me or did anything for my entire 4 hour stay besides take me in for CT scans. Then dropped me back off in the room where I woke up 2 hours later freaking out that they let me fall asleep. Then they sent me to the waiting room to wait on my cab. I have never felt worse than in those hours. Horrible horrible place. I am in nursing school and this just pushed me even more to be the best nurse I can be for patients that need care and attention so desperately. 8,000 dollar hospital bill later for what? They didn't even attend to me. Just a nightmare. Do not go here.

Useless hospital. Been into emergency multiple times, once for an asthma attack so severe I was bending my upper body forward and back to keep breathing, still took them 45min to get to me because some toddler with a broken arm and screeching mother took priority. Broke clavicle recently, owe a few thousand dollars for them to tell me to walk it off refer me to a specialist and refuse to show me the x-rays they took. Always excessively rude staff on the phone. Seriously next time just leave me in the ditch.

ER is in chambles unclean compared to Emory. Doctors are not renound in neuro at all. Complaints with going over patients head to not understanding MS. Slow and will not give records. Miss veins, insert wrong port needles.Worst hospital I have ever had the in fortune of going. Will choose Radford and roanoke of this train wreck

Went here because I was having real bad back pain and stomach. They said I just had a stomach bug and sent me in my way. A few days later ended up in Roanoke memorial they laughed about Lewis gale and told me that got it all wrong I turned out to some thing worse.

my wife arrives at the hospital with severe chest pain, trouble breathing, fatigue, neck pain, numbness in her left arm, and other symptoms of a heart attack. She tells the staff and they put her in a room. I arrive 15 mins later and they already have her off the heart monitor and are running a blood test to determine weather or not it is as we feared. She has puncture marks in both arms as it took them multiple failed attempts to draw blood. 5th time is the charm. One hour later, still off the heart monitor and no answer from the doctor or staff. Guess potential heart attacks are not as severe as they tell you. But not to worry, the person from billing was present and attentive and was sure to take care of us until I was all paid up, then we were left alone. Crazy to think that my wife is suffering a potential heart attack, no heart monitor, no personal care in performing tests, and no answers or communication from the staff for over an hour is standard procedure. Guess I'll have to come back though as there isn't another hospital to choose from. This is not our first visit, I another visit we came because of severe abdominal pain and a very bloody bowel movement. Not the hard movement form constipation, lots of blood. That visit was a cool 5 hours of sitting in the room, a stool test, and a $3750 bill for what they said was "no issue they could detect". This is not a rant of just one bad experience, we have been 4 times over the course of a year and it's terrible every time. For comparison, I had to visit a hospital in Ethiopia, draw whatever conclusions you want there, it was 1 hour, $200, three tests were performed, and I was taken care of in an excellent manner. I say this because literally a hospital in a third world country is preferable to Lewis Gale.

My husband had knee replacement surgery and was treated with respect and care. The surgical staff was professional, efficient and kept me well informed. When he was transferred to the floor the entire staff was professional and attentive. Everyone used proper sanitary procedures, he was monitored hourly and he always got his pain meds accurately and timely. The food was even good! I can't say enough about how well He was treated.
