Wonderful park! Only there for a short time and little hike but the trails were well maintained and the restrooms were spotless! We will definitely back again.

Had a great time here. Went to fish with my fiancee. It's 4 dollars per person open 7 a.m to sunset. We fished for bass and catfish for almost 4 hours with only two bites but we were told that if you have a boat and can fish closer to the dam it's a lot better fishing there. There is a man-made beach here and a swimming area. Paddle boats and fishing boats for rent. Plenty of camping spots. Lots of playgrounds for the kids. Picnic areas to grill out. This is a definite hot spot for family fun. We highly recommend.

Me and a buddy went fishing today and as always the beautiful Lake Lurleen proved to be plentiful as we caught well over our limit but only kept a few . I will say the bass are early on some lures . The staff was friendly as always and it was nice seeing the added wildlife as well. I'm looking forward to the first camping trip of the year soon .

Hiking and bike riding exercise excellent. Many trails. All marked along the way. Feel like you are away from everything. Great camping. Tent and campers.

We stayed here while coming to the Alabama-Tennessee game and we're very mislead. We were told that they have a great time when visiting fans come down for the game but we were not welcomed by the state park ranger who ultimately kicked us out for saying we threatened him. I do believe he did not like Tennessee fans and did not want us there. If you are looking for a place to have a good time be very careful or you might end up getting kicked out without getting your money back especially if your from Tennessee.

Very nice and well kept park. Stayed on a Thursday night, lots of sites to choose from, we stayed at site 43, water front within a short distance to bath house which were clean.

Pretty lake in Northport. Al. Large. Clean. Campsites. Paddle boats, row boats. Bass boats allowed with trolling motor only.

Staying in a RV. there are great views but no cell service and only offers 30 amp hook up.

If you live locally, it's nice to go there once in a while just to get a way for a while, however if you live long ways off and planning on fishing, bad choice, but if only camping and cooking fish you bought, or caught from somewhere else, then it's probably going to be a nice getaway.

Very nice park, with beach, camping, hiking trails, and more. Playground areas for kids, and pavilions that may be rented for full day use. Multiple camping areas. Some RV sites feature full services. Some trees (gum) do shed spiny burrs that you'll not like walking barefoot on!

It's a nice Park. But tent-ers should know this:
-$20+ for a primitive tent site which is up hill from the parking area. One has to wonder that in 1600 ac they could not have a better set up for tents.
- There are three vapor lights in the tent area and they are BRIGHT! Thank goodness one was not working.
-There is a water spigot and a flush bathroom which is handy.response / report this review
