Our favorite campground. Primitive sites but only a limited amount of sites makes it very peaceful. Good fishing is plus.

I shouldn't mention this because I want to keep this place to myself. Wonderful beach. Dark sky camping for the astronomy crowd. Quiet. Huge camping sites. You are not packed in on top of others. Loved it

The park is wonderful! but be warned that if you go camping there, you are at the mercy of other campers because there is no 24/7 management on site. We had to endure several camp sites blasting music past quiet hours (one until 2 a.m.!) and having adults swearing and acting like the campground was their own made our camping experience a nightmare. If my son was not asleep I was ready to leave at 1 a.m. The park is wonderful and worth a day trip, but if you have a family, it may not be worth the gamble to put yourself in the hands of other campers who may not share your definition of following the rules.

Our family of 5 really enjoyed the camp ground. It was quite, peaceful and calm. We originally booked site 15 but had to move to 14 because our power cord for the camper was not long enough. We did have a extension but it was still to short. Make sure you bring a extra large cord or buy a extra extension for your camper.

Camp site 14 was located near the trail entrance that connects the camp ground, boat launch and beach. It was a beautiful 15min hike to the boat launch and then another 15 minutes to the beach area. It's not a smooth flat path but not difficult either, our 4 year old hiked it no problem.

The fishing was good, the no wake lake is peaceful and calm. The damn area located just out side of the camp ground on the hiking trail was beautiful and had great fishing. The night sky and sunsets are stunning!!

The only down side is no water hook ups, showers and no dump station. They do have a hand water pump and pit toilets. This camp ground would be 5 stars if it had a dump and water station. We will definitely be back next year.

Absolutely my favorite park and camp ground. Rustic and RV for $17 a night. Cute cubicle style camp sites. Beach, boat launch, and a national star gazing site. Beautiful private lake with beautiful landscape! Great fishing!

The campsite was beautiful and private and the stars at night are amazing. This is a great park for adults who want to hang out in peace and solitude. The beach area is full of goose poop and the "bathrooms" (outhouses) are riddled with hornets nests and biting flies. There is electrical hookups about 70 feet from the campsite so take a long extension cord. Pump water and no dump stations. This is a semi-rustic park. No playgrounds but my kids had fun running around the site and riding bikes.

Extremely peaceful and serene area with a small sand area. There are lots of picnic tables available for use.

It is actually dark at night. Amazing. No showers and only pit toilets but it's worth it.

Almost afraid to say how nice this park is, since part of its beauty is how quiet it is. Lovely park, 30 amp service for campers, but only a hand pump for water. Pit toilets, no dump station. One of our favorite places to camp, and lots of unique birds spotted right from our camp site. Wish I could go more often. Sites are beautifully maintained, and every time we go it looks like they've just cut the grass. No issues with ticks here at all, keeping to the camp site and roads.

Great place to camp very clean and quiet. Nice camp sites, on the lake and even off the lake they are pretty secluded.

Great spot to view the night Sky w/o all the light pollution that normally would prevent you from seeing much of the stars/sky that you would say if you were in the UP. It Obviously doesn't take the place of being in the UP but its a great alternative w/o the long drive. Please note for obvious reasons experiences may very due to weather conditions, the time of year, and the amount of human contact you have at time of visit. If conditions are right then you should have no problem getting a decent view of the Milk Way belt. This park is blacked out(now lighting) for this very reason so make sure to stay respectful and try to limit headlights and any other lighting to an absolute minimum. I recommend using Red LED lights in place of your normal flashlights. Enjoy!!
