Perfect for kids, especially when the waves are big or the big lake is on a cool streak. The channel is great fun for drifting on floaty toys out to the big water, and playing under the bridge makes memories of a lifetime; I grew up playing in this channel, and now I bring my grandkids.

Loved Duck lake beach and how it flows right into the big lake. The water was warmer and the current where it flows into the big lake is kinda neat. Gave the kids a lot of room to play.

Excellent place for young children to swim and play. Water is shallow in the creek and there is a steep drop off on the Duck Lake side which is great for swimming and boating. You can walk into Lake Michigan via the creek

Excellent beach for young children! The channel is shallow and warm, with Lake Michigan swimming also available. Seems to always be clean. Very nice Michigan beach!

Duck Lake State Park is a great place to enjoy Lake Michigan and the beach area that connects Duck Lake to it. It is also a great place to bring children.

Amazing location. The lake is gorgeous and connected to Lake Michigan which also is beautifully clean in this area. I'm from around Chicago so to see bodies of water and air quality this great is quite an experience. Must go for people looking for a quick vacation or just an out-of-city natural experience. Highly recommended location.

We visit here for it's channel to Lake Michigan for swimming. Great spot, convenient parking with a State Park sticker, restrooms there as well.

One note, if you walk the boardwalk under the bridge, you'll have to carry your stiff through the channel (1 foot deep usually) or back up and over the bridge to get to MOST of the beach. Just walk along the road to get there faster.
