Monday night - $1.25 for 5 oz. brew samples off the diverse on-site-brewed draft list - food was tasty (not healthy, honestly - but TASTY) and service from Reagan was top notch - great atmosphere in a great historic mid-Century America downtown setting.. loved it!
The beer selection is great, service was ok and most everything on the menu is fried. Prices were fair for the generous portions.
The beer is fantastic! This could go toe-to-toe with Grand Rapids breweries and hold its own. Great service. Fantastic food.Prompt, courteous service with great recommendations. Make this a definite stop on your visit to Lafayette!
I enjoyed the french onion soup and an oatmeal stout. We came on a Wednesday evening and the beer prices were very reasonable (3.04 a pint!). The beer nuggets (fried sauerkraut balls) were excellent.
The staff was very friendly, and the food was good, but we waited quite awhile for things to arrive. We tried the black cherry soda and the root beer - not bad. Nice atmosphere in a cute little city, and kid-friendly.
In a nearly empty restaurant at 4 pm it took more than 10 minutes to seat us. More than another 10 to get a waiter to the table for our order. The beer was fine. The soup was good. However I would not recommend this place.
Great location and attractive bar. I've only ever had beer there, good service. Most of the beers are ok, haven't found a great one yet.
For a brew house this has a fairly small range of options. They have a lot of beers - but they're all along the same lines and someone aiming for lighter or less hoppy beers can only enjoy the root beer. They do serve beers on Sunday (I don't know how!), but I didn't enjoy the experience. The friendly staff tried real hard, but the lack of options just ruined it for me.
Ordered half order of fish and chips, fish came out dripping of grease. Not crispy at all Kinda mushy. Staff fixed a new order immediately. Waitress must have been having a crappy day, dropped off the new order and walked away. Said "Thank you" and seemed like she didn't give a Ratts arse. Came back later like a whole new person. Second order. Awesome.
Plenty of great custom brews with variety and options like flights, growlers, howlers, and crowlers. The appetizers like the brew nuts and bacon pops also provide something interesting to munch on.
Went here recently with my wife. Experience was fantastic! Service was prompt, even on a busy evening. Facility was clean. Our server was great and made sure we were taken care of. I had a couple of Star City Lagers and they were good as hell! I had a Midwestern Burger and added a slice of Ghost Pepper Jack. It was great!!! Wife had some chicken thing, don't remember what it was called, but she enjoyed her meal, too. We will be coming back as long as we live here!
Beer and burgers were very good. I would recommend against the beer cheese soup as it was quite bad. A bit disappointed that I had to ask to have it removed from the bill.
I always enjoy lunch here. Best iced tea too, and they keep your glass full. The specials are well actually special! Piping hot soups.. still not ga ga for the beers, but they are good, I'm just not a Porter, Stout, or IPA lover.
Absolutely love this place! Friendly staff, food made with quality and i got a 4 beer sampler of their best homemade brews! My favorite place to eat and relax in Lafayette!
