Giving this hotel a 1 star is a bit much. Upon getting to my room, I enter the room and find a light burned out. I close the door behind me and there's about a 1/2" gap between the door and the floor, so ALL noise from outside gets into the room (and bugs as well). The chair in the room had a massive stain in it. There was a large amount of stains on the floor around the fridge as well. I definitely didn't feel that staying that was worth my money, as I've stayed at other La Quinta's in the past, and this by far was the worst one I've ever stayed in.
After reading the negative reviews was almost tempted to cancel. Thought oh well suck it up it only for one night. However it was great. Friendly helpful staff. Lovely clean room. Breakfast was limited but what was there was lovely. Waffle makers to make your own waffles. Fruit, yoghurt, bagels, muffins, bread for toast. Eggs. Fruit juice and hot drinks. Easy check in and check out.
Convenient location. Friendly staff. Clean rooms with fully functional furniture and facilities. Great breakfast with lots of waffle makers! Free parking and Wi-Fi top off an enjoyable experience at a reasonable cost.
I stayed at this hotel last night because my father had several appointments at Moffitt all day on Tuesday. First of all they were one of the few hotels that agreed to let us check in early so that my father could rest. Secondly their staff is amazing! Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. We had an issue with our tv and the assistant manager Melanie not only fixed it but gave us a discount for it! We will have several more trips to Tampa coming up in the near future and they've definitely earned a loyal customer!
The room was much better than the exterior of the hotel. The beds we're comfortable and the room was clean. Check in experience was great. If the outside was better kept than I would have given it 5 stars.
100$ for one weeknight and 2 double beds. They want your credit card when you check in so that they can charge you 75$ for "incidentals" and then supposedly you get that money back days later if you didn't mess up the room. What? This hotel is definitely outdated and rooms need remodeled. The room smelled musty. Beds were saggy in the middle. Dark carpet left my white socks dirty. The worst part was other peoples hair on the bathroom floor and shower stall. You might want to pay a little more for better if you like a clean room. The only good thing about it was it was very close to Bush Gardens. Sorry LaQuinta but I am just trying to give an honest review.
If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around
Had stayed here for 2 night around last Christmas, approximately $120 per night. The room was among average and common, quiet and comfy. Great location as there's only 15-20 minutes' walking to the Busch Garden entrance so visitors can avoid paying extra fees for parking. Our room keys were dead after the first night so we have to return them to the front desk for recharging, which was not quite a soothing experience especially if it followed a long and tired day in the park. Considering all the advantages this hotel has been given, the rate was still slightly overpriced.
I would recommend this hotel to others, especially if they come to visit Busch Garden.

Very clean and quiet. Only thing I didn't like as a single woman was the outside access to rooms. I have to say though parking lot and hallways well lit and saw security walking around property will stay here again
Room is accommodating with blow dryer and large ironing board with iron
They have a huge cleaning staff which is very nice to know, pool was clean and welcoming. Our fridge wasn't working at all so we had to call that in and one of the beds was very uncomfortable, like hollow. They serve breakfast which is cool. All in all a good place. Oh and they're right next to Bush Gardens!
If you're looking for a convenient place near Bush Gardens I would recommend. But, I am very particular about places I stay at when away from home and I wasn't thrilled about the lack of amenities. There was no mini fridge so we ended up buying a cheap cooler to hold drinks, there was also no microwave in our room. Another unfortunate discovery was adjacent doors that left little privacy for conversation and left me feeling sorry for the neighbors that had to endure my toddlers occasional outbursts. Bathrooms were incredibly tiny and the toilet in our room had a lid that was not made for it. It sat awkwardly on top. The biggest complaint I have is the people that this motel attracted. There was a group of young adults smoking pot right outside our area by the rooms! And the. Towards the evening there were a bunch of dubious looking people just hanging out in the parking lot. When we were getting into our car the person next to us was blasting rap music right next to our car. Not just a little loud, but enough to rattle our windows. It just felt a little tooghetto for my taste. I will say, the beds were very comfortable, and aside from the loud music that me and my husband assumed was a close club, I slept very well. The breakfast area is large, clean, and fairly well stocked. The stairs leading to our room smells like pee. The room service cleaned our room up very well. There is a gas station near by and the nearest Walmart was very very nice (just in case you need something extra). This place is adjacent to a police station which was a comfort considering some of the people we saw. If you're looking for a nice cheap cleanish place, this will do. If you are on vacation wanting a little more comfort, this is not the place. Happy hotel hunting!
This hotel was very clean. The staff is friendly and greet you every time they see you. Security walks around constantly and are also friendly. I recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. Plenty of options for dining and very comfortable rooms.
We chose this La Quinta for the price and location near Busch garden. Busch gardens is a twenty minute walk to the main gate, which saved us $20 for parking and eliminated the stress of waiting in line for the trolley at the end of the day. In the middle of the motel is a good sized pool with plenty of seating and a crane for handicap pool swimming. The rooms had nice amenities such as a flat screen TV, microwave, mini refrigerator, and coffee maker. Although the rooms were non smoking, the cigarette butt trash cans were right outside the rooms in the breeze ways, causing a constant smoke and cigarette smell around your room. They only had two elevators on one side of the building so loading and unloading of luggage was an effort. On a plus side they are pet friendly. In the morning they provided a small breakfast selection of Belgium walfles, hard boiled eggs, toast, bagels, cereals, oatmeal, yogurt and your standard breakfast beverages. There was plenty of room in the semi clean eating area and the service was good.
