Ed has catered two lobster bakes for me. Each for a party of over 100 people. The food and presentation were flawless. The service (as long as it is Ed and his employees) was also flawless. If ever hosting a large party, I highly recommend La Mer. However if additional staff is needed, I suggest you asking Ed not to outsource it to enVious Events, LLC. The owner sends staff that she has not properly vetted and then does not claim any responsibility for their inability to do the job. But, I cannot stress enough how wonderful Ed and his staff at La Mer are!!

We had a clambake at our home for 50+ people catered by La Mer. It was incredible! Captain Ed planned it perfectly, down to the last detail! He brought the tables, the decorations, the hors d'oeuvres, and a great crew. The food was superb, fresh, the onsite chef was so accomodating, and he kept preparing specifically as the guests requested. The staff of three was so gracious, accomodating, and left the kitchen cleaner than when they came! This was my best ever and most worry free party. I am eager to do it again!
Even my hypercritical spouse was thrilled.
As for a seafood market, I shop there at least once every 10 days, and have never been disappointed by the quality of the fish.response / report this review
