Always a must. Recently heard the place is closing and it has gone through some service time changes. The food has always been good no matter what an upstart food critic says. Doubt he'll ever be able to review again in San Antonio. The environment is slow and easy going. Oysters are awesome and the French 75 a must. Enjoy while you still can.

Really sold place that brings in the flavors of NOLA to San Antonio. The inside feels like a nice brasserie and the menu is well built. The gumbo is worth trying with absolutely perfectly cooked meats and even the okra still keeps its crunch (there is a secret to this :-)). Small missteps like putting fried catfish on a ton of sauce are not enough to detract anyone from a visit because they will deliver on flavor more often than not.

I visited on date with my husband. Everything was well done. Great atmosphere, polite and efficient service and beautiful food. The main courses cost around 16 to 34 dollars per plate. The food was excellent. We will definitely be returning. Most of the poor reviews are based on the cost of the meal.

This was our first time at Luke, and after carefully reviewing their website, we were looking forward to going to the restaurant. The website stated the high level of service and stated that most of the bottles of wine were no more than $45, with exception of a few. First, the server was less than friendly, and didn't engage us more until we reached out first. Secondly, a large number of their wine bottles were well over $45, but we got a bottle anyway. The server, not ONCE, filled our glasses. The food was very good, but the portions were extremely small. Unfortunately, for the acclaims the website gave this organization, we were disappointed

Despite this being my view, I'd like to share it with everyone else.
Service:
I found the service to be very decent, of course there was no expectations for it, nothing special.
Food:
I've heard many complaints about the food, reading reviews, etc. I found the quality to be decent, yet some of the meat was infact undercooked to top it off, It's expensive as hell, making it even worse.
Why the reviews are mixed:
The reviews are mixed mainly because some people enjoyed it and some didn't, yes I know it sounds cliche' but it's true. Not just that, but the fact that some reviews are so low is not just because of the food It's because of the prices! If people don't like your food then you're pretty much screwed. I understand that your restaurant is full of decor and fancy table cloths, but please don't make it so expensive.
Conclusion:
Despite many complaints, I found the food enjoyable the chicken was well cooked, I just prefer that you wouldn't make it so expensive. If you make it expensive, the ones who don't like your food will be even more pissed off.
