Great State park. Well kept and campsites are well separated and lots of shade. A small lake is nearby with great hikes. There are great groups sites as well. I thought the nearby base would be a draw back, but while we were there we never heard the planes. Were there on a Friday night through Saturday. The campsite only has a store in the check in station, but still had ice, wood and treats as well as other necessities. So excited to find a great park nearby for overnight or long stays. The shower and bathrooms are brand new!

This place has tons of fishing locations, biking/hiking trails, camping locations, lakes, and a lot of wild life to see! hiking trails range from 1.5 to 5.5 miles from what i saw there. This place is great to bring your family for fishing or the playgrounds. Dog owners can also have their dogs however they must be leashed. I would also recommend bug spray and a bag of supplies if you are hiking the longer trails around the park.

We love this place!! It is so peaceful. We love to go there and walk the trails. We also walk to the lake and have family BBQs there. Also sometimes just a picnic for just the two of us..Great place to go!!

We camped in a tent over the Labor Day weekend. The kids loved riding their scooters and bicycles up and down the road. We were at a family campsite with power. The site was well covered by trees to allow for good shade.

We spent part of our time on the trails and fishing from the lake. Shore fishing was ok, but the weeds were so thick that it wasn't really an option for our smaller children (kept getting fish caught in the weeds on shore).

Everyone had a good time. Only real drawback was how bad the chiggers were. So bad that even the DEET wouldn't keep them off of us.

Could have used one more bathroom, too (or at least one separate from the showers). But I suspect they have overkill on non-holiday weekends.

Clean and easy to access. They have unwritten rules that can change at any time they feel the need to discriminate you. So watch your back in Missouri parks.

This is great park to spend some quiet time getting to know. Especially nice for military and military Retirees because of proximity to Whiteman AFB. Very friendly staff. Knob Nester = BIG Scoops of Central Dairy ice cream. Walmart is few miles west at Warrensburg and while there get a great pizza from Spin! near the campus football stadium.

Beautiful large trees. Plenty space between sites. Have a few handicap spaces which are cement. No need for leveling blocks.

Beautiful state park with many trails. Has some smaller lakes good for fishing or kayaking. They rent kayaks and camp sites.

Excellent state park. Lots of walking and biking trails. The park is well maintained with great facilities. They have camping and rent canoes.

It was a nice area for a picnic along the way. Since it was off-season, the restrooms were closed, but the area was still well maintained.

Great place for some fall hiking! Drove an hour to get here and it was well worth it! Not much wild life at this time of year, but plenty to see! We'll be back for sure!

Campsite was pretty flat with room for our large tent. Facilities were adequate. Trails were good for hiking. Would prefer a swimming area but it is not currently set up with one.

This park is pretty convenient for me, offers some scenic trails for running, only one mountain bike trail (single track, around a 6 mile loop but there's a few alternate trails to mix it up a bit) lots of picnic areas, streams, playground, open areas. Can be a decent spot to hunt morels if you know where to look and you beat the crowds.

The campsites are nice. Very roomy. The facilities are excellent and all of the staff were very friendly. The only reason 3 stars is because of the huge raccoon problem. We had all food put away in the car and still had raccoons trying to get in our tent! One even managed to open the zipper and get in as I was dozing off. If it was just a few that would be fine but it was 5-10 an hour from midnight to 5 a.m. They should really consider doing something to decrease the population.
