Wouldn't even give 1 star ,but cannot give lower rate. By far worst getaway ever! Booked 2 nights , cancelled second night. Rooms are disgusting, went to local Kmart to purchase bleach ,Lysol and sandals, should have just left when the first room had ants crawling all over the restroom.. )there were so many issues ,im sure im going to fprget some)we were given another room ,as manager said,"I'm sure this room doesn't have ants or dinosaurs ". (I guess ants should be ok??)Second room wasn't much better, TV wasn't getting signal ,attendant said it just needed programming, did something and left it searching for signal, door would not close !!! They called maintenance, which took 45 minutes til he came , he hammered and chiseled for 30 minutes in order to get the door to close 🤤.Then noticed towels in restroom were dirty ! Manager stated "Well, we are not the Hilton " ,I was aware we were not the Hilton but would at least expect clean room with clean towels, with door that actually closed .We wanted to just cancel reservation period ,but we were talked onto seeing another room ,BIG MISTAKE, third room initially seem ok but as soon as manager left ,noticed sticky coffee stains on night stand ( it was never touched as the room was supposedly cleaned)The round shower head had two pressurized hard streams of water shooting out ,as it had so much calcium hard water deposits preventing adequate water flow,however ,this point we agreed we were going to sanitize with bleach and Lysol and wear the sandals we bought . We were going to try to make the best of it .We went on a long hike the next morning to have the surprise that the key was deactivated as we tried to get back into the room . As I called office they blamed us for having key next to cell phone , yet my husband had the room key in his wallet and I had my cellphone in my pocket . At this point we were done and demanded to cancel second night .Attendands are rude and especially Manager( Harvey). As I took pictures of so many issues ,Harvey stood in front of door just watching us gathering our belongings. As I expressed my discontent to him , his response was ,"Just get your things and get out!". I then asked him his name and he responded, " You don't need to know my name!" As we walked to our car he insisted we had to give him the key but as he noticed I started to record, he shut the door on us . We then proceeded to return key to front ,in which attendant told us managers name . I did take many pictures hoping I would be able to report it to The Wyndham Hotels, as that's who I booked it through,but after I was on the phone with rep. The solution was that they were just going to call the Knights Inn to report my complaint to them . That was a waste of my time WORST GETAWAY EVER !!

We stayed last night. After reading the reviews I was afraid of what I would find. But I was very surprised and pleased! The room was clean, the heater worked well, we had a view of the lake. The beds were very comfortable and clean. The room smelled clean. The man at the front desk was very nice. We had donuts and coffee in the morning. I will definitely stay there again!!

In a good location. The free breakfast consisted of donuts bought from the grocery store and coffee. There was no ice machine. No microwave or fridge in room. The carpet was filthy and the bed was uncomfortable

Way overpriced for the quality! I would NOT recommend this place!!!!
-Heater not working, luckily i know about heaters so I end up fixing it myself.
-The bathroom's door handle/knob falling apart.
-The flushing handle of the toilet fell, I end up removing the tank's cover to be able to flush it.
-My room's door was ajar and 1 of their employees (not room service) opened it without knocking and asked me a stupid question and left, then he passed by again and took a look again without saying a thing.
-The worst part, I called the front office and guess what? Voicemail! "leave a message and we will contact You" they never did.
-Hard time connecting to "free" WIFI.

Good location but that is about it. There should be a negative scale for this place. The rooms are horrible, no iron, coffee maker, phone and the room heater is from the 80's. The price for these rooms should be considered for price gouging. Disappointing.

This was the worst motel in Big Bear Lake. The only thing that was good about this motel was that it is close to the village and the water was working. No ice machines, no a/c units. Completely run down place. Stay away from it.

It's right in the heart of Big Bear Lake, right up from the fun zone and 2 blocks away from the Big Bear Village. It's an older building and a new paint job and hall carpet wouldn't hurt. The only downside apart from needing an update the price was the fact that the shower head didn't spray as it should. More like a pour from a water hose than a spray. The room was very reasonable and the rooms were clean.

My stay at the Knights Inn was ok. My room was located across the street (Lynn Rd) from the main building,
What I liked:
Walking distance to the village/restaurants.
Affordability, last minute booking was less than half price of hotels around it.
Overall the room was clean. I liked the bathroom/shower area had dressing room which could be shut with a second door.
The 2-bed room was a good size.
What I didn’t like:
Room temperature/ ventilation, the room remained at least 10 degrees above the temperature outside at night, the ceiling fan operated but did not help in ventilation. I understand cooling systems are sometimes not present in hotels which are typically built for winter; however, each room should have at least a portable fan that can be placed by the window to help the flow of cold air from outside to ventilate the room. This impacted my ability to sleep as it was too hot for my comfort.
I was unable to make the TV function properly, the remote operated the “cable box” but will not turn off the TV or manage the volume, and the TV was on when we arrived. I had to unplug the TV to turn it off. The TV is an old box TV model.
The staff was amicable and pleasant. My check in and check out were prompt and without issue.
The hotel grounds appear to have exceeded the life for its usefulness and appeal to remain competitive. I would stay in this hotel again only as a last resort in the area and for solo trips. I would rather pay extra if I had to bring family or significant other as the grounds are clean but very old and maybe too old for comfort.response / report this review -

I booked 2 nights in Motel 6, spend the first night there. In the morning, after my morning run, got in the shower and had freezing!!! Water. Immediately checked out. I have found Knights Inn, the price range was similar, booked one night. I called to ask if i can check in early, and the man was very nice and agreed. The next thing i told him is that i had a bad experience with the other motel, told him the story, and made sure they have hot water in the shower. I am very sensitive to cold! He promised me they do. Also, when he showed me the room i told him i only care about is hot water at that time, and when i checked, it was warm. Left the room for few hours, got stuck in a mountain hike in crazy rain, for 3 hours and i was freezing. When i finally got to the room, can't wait to take a hot shower, guess what Cold water again. What is wrong with this motels??? Hot water is a very basic thing, especially if you pay between $80 - $90 a night!!!!!! I was so upset, and the same nice guy from that morning just told me, wait 10 minutes, we will warm the water for you
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, PAY MORE BUT DO NOT BOOK IN THIS MOTEL.
Anyway, the room is very old, not clean, the lock is bad, door not sealed and many other things. NEVER AGAIN!! Especially not when it's snowing.response / report this review -

Expensive room rates. Buildings are made of wood and dry rotting away. Litter all over the courtyard, swimming pool filled up with dirt, front desk receptionist always sitting in a chair by the fireplace. Small rooms with old musty smells, no telephone in room, 30+ year old televisions with old Boob-tube 15 inch screens, no refrigerator or other amenities. Stay away, this is a Wyndham blemish!!

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!! We booked a room and showed up early and checked into our room to find out someone was in the room. The attendant assured us that no one was in the room, so he took us over to the room and handed us our room cards back and said no one was in the room, we opened the door and there were people in the room. They turned out to be the cleaning crew, but there was no way for us to know that. They had a child with them (little girl) and looked like they could be a family. No uniform or anything that indicated they were a cleaning crew. The room we had looked like it was straight out of an 80's movie with the old box style tv, and the room had an old musty smell to it. The building our room was in had a gutter that had broken loose over the entrance and was dripping water all over people as they walk into the building. The room was not only in serious need of updating, but in repair work as well. If you can't get a decent room and Knights Inn is the only place available, I highly recommend driving down the mountain and staying in the baseline area. At least go by an verify what I am saying. You will see I am telling the truth and the place in a serious state of disarray. I give it an F, for Fail.

Worst hotel ever.
The hotel is divided into two buildings. My family and I stayed in the building next to the bowling alley. I don't know about the building with the lobby but the building where my family and I stayed at felt totally unsafe. I mean main doors were wide open, no security cameras (even though there were signs there saying that were security cameras), no staff or any personnel in the building. While we were sleeping on three occasions somebody played ding-dong ditch on us. I don't know about you but having someone randomly pounding on your door in the middle of the night scared the heck out of me. I did not feel safe at all in the hotel.
The room at first sight looked alright but upon further inspection the hotel room was just as bad as the hotel. There were cobwebs on the ceiling fan, tissue paper in several places to plug holes, dead bugs on the walls, bits of food on the floor, and broken curtains. Our bed was hard and our pillows were razor thin. We tried turning on the hot water to take a shower but the hot water never came out.I had someone come out and he said that since the room hasn't been used in a while that it would take a while for it to come out. It did after having the water run at least ten minutes
Come breakfast time don't expect nothing more than donuts and coffee.
Please, do yourself a favor and do not stay here.response / report this review
