Terrific experience. Wonderful people who have become good friends. The owners are pleasant, friendly and make you feel at home. Highly recommended.
We love this campground. It is family run and they can't do enough for their campers. The grounds are beautiful, plenty of choices of types of sites. They have lots of activities planed for all age groups.
We stayed in the Hearth cottage/duplex. There is a very strong musty, mildew odor inside. They use an air freshener in an attempt to conceal it, but the mildew odor still exists. It permeates all the furnishings. Other than that it was comfortable. The kitchen is well supplied and all the plumbing worked well. Overall cleanliness was sufficient.
After returning home we noticed our clothing and luggage has retained the musty mildew odor. Bummer. Washing the clothes is simple but the luggage is another matter.
They immediately made me excited for my stay by when I booked with such a nice excited lady telling me about all the events that were in store for the weekend. We stayed on the Pioneer side with a view of the lake. It's very isolated compared to the other side since we went without the kids. We loved our trip and had a blast fishing and hanging out. We booked for the following month before we left (we drove around to see which site was our fav).
My cottage was full of termite swarmers. It was dirty and owners lie to evade accountability. The pictures of cottages on line are very misleading. If i wanted a dirty place to house my family on vacation that is bug filled i would have pitched a tent. Unacceptable way to run a business. I will never go back, and I feel compelled to continuously post reviews so that others don't have their vacations ruined. Their solution for us was to place us in a camper for 48 hours while they bombed our cottage. Then we were to move back in with a one year old baby. The insides of our cupboards were so full of bug spray our food took on the flavor. A true TRAP!! Save your self some aggregation and look to vacation in a better run business. It surely wont be hard to find that as these people are a POOR excuse for business owners.
I've been to many camping grounds over the years. This one is by far my favorite. Very organized and clean. The camp sites on the lake is very quite and private. Every time I end up camping I always spend more time comparing it with keen lake than doing anything there. This is the honest truth.
We had a good stay here we will go back . You have to pay for your showers. Very well stocked store an lots of activities. An are dog's liked swimming .
Excellent camping location! Very clean, fun activities planned for whole family! Reasonably priced. Loved exploring on kayaks on huge lake!
Very nice. Lots to do. Sites are smallish but we had plenty of room for our 21 ft travel trailer and a full size pick up truck . If I have any complaint its that its pricey and they charge for every little thing. $4 to launch your own kayak. That said we'll still come back
This has to be at least my 10th time here. So tranquil. Great to get away from hustle and bustle. Very relaxing. Welcoming family atmosphere. Dog friendly. Forget stresses of home and work.
My fiance and I were on a road trip/camping trip with our dogs, when we came across this place and decided to camp here for the night. We got really lucky because it wasn't too busy and they were able to get us right in.
The people that work here are awesome - they went out of their way to make sure I got a really nice campsite right on the water. They were friendly and personable - also very helpful with suggestions for local stuff.
It was no issue having both of my dogs and they even have a dog swimming area in the lake My dogs loved it here!
This place exceeded my expectations for the price we paid. There is a little store with all sorts of stuff (worms, wood, ice, snacks, camping equipment, toiletries, souvenir's, etc), a nice pool, a small waterfall, good fishing, a cool little playground for the kids, decent showers and bathrooms, great campsites (clean and some directly on the water), picnic tables and fire rings, and a beautiful view of the lake.
I will definitely be coming back on my next road trip! I recommend you check this place out - especially if you want to bring along the pets and kids! If you're looking for a tent site make sure you ask for #152 B - you won't regret it!
