We stayed in the Owls nest for a Mother's Day hiking weekend. The place is beautiful! The house is clean and roomy and the grounds around the house are amazing! Mike the owner is super nice and very hospitable! Can't wait to stay there again! Highly recommend!

Just a few tips if you will be hiking in the area, Mohunk and Minnewaska state parks don't open till 9am parking at Minnewaska is $10 a car and includes Sam's point, Peters Kill and main park entrances. Mowhunk is $20 a person to hike for the day.

Rented a cabin for a quick weekend away. We stayed 2 nights and had a really great experience. Mike, the owner, was incredibly hospitable and saw that we had everything we needed, while still giving us our space. Cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed, to include kitchen and bathroom items. The cabins are secluded, yet close enough to town to make a store run if needed. We spent Saturday hiking at a park Mike suggested, which was beautiful. Overall it was an amazing weekend. No complaints.

Lovely cabin and lovely welcome from Mike and his family. We had a great 5 days here. We hiked and swam at Mohonk Preserve and Lake Minnewaska and came home each day to refresh in the wonderful pool before grilling and relaxing with a few drinks. Our 10 month old daughter loved it too. Lots of other hiking/swimming options so we'll be back

This place is a real gem in the area. My sister's family was travelling to New York from China and I took them to Emerald Forest Bungalows for two nights before they went back home and everyone loves it! The cabin is neat and mordern. and the pool is great. We fished in the private pond and hiked to the ice cave.. The owner Mike is awesome and he gave us some good suggestions on what we could do in the area. We had a great time. We will definitely come back again!

Simply gorgeous , relaxing, perfect to enjoy and calm your mind. Mike the owner is a such a wonderful person, helped us with location to visit and fun things to do in the area, always comes in the morning check on you and give good company. He keeps the whole land clean and well maintained for the visitors. Cottages are brand new and plenty room for a group or family and the all wooden architecture, all build with green in mind, for me it all breath taking. After 3 nights we just didn't want to leave it was so refreshing and calm.
Mike and the family; keep up the good work and good luck..! we will visit you again for sure.

This is our second time coming to Emerald Forest Bungalows. We absolutely love it here! The cabin is both rustic and modern, which allows us to truly enjoy upstate while still being comfortable. It’s very peaceful which is great because we come here to get away from all the noise of everyday life. They have a great pond for fishing right on the property! I have caught some very nice size bass both years that we’ve come here. On top of that, they have a salt water pool, which we really like because it’s good for your skin and feels a lot healthier than the chlorine filled public pools. The owners, Mike and his family, are very friendly and accommodating. We have everything we need on premises and if we decide to venture out, there are plenty of lakes and hiking trails all around us. We will be coming back every summer moving forward!
