The office is easy to locate. The staff is helpful/polite. The nurse practitioner was knowledgeable and answered any questions I had and some I didn't. Everyone there seemed to work/ communicate with my little ones very well.

I have had a couple okay experiences with KCP, however after today's experience I will not be going back. One frustrating interaction with the staff after another. From the phone conversation before our appointment (putting me on hold for 20 minutes only for me to find out they went to lunch), the lack of knowledge from the nursing staff (daughter had to pee during intake, they walked us to the bathroom, we came back and THEN they handed us the pee cup and then keeping us in the room while we waited for my daughter to pee((which NEVER happened BTW))), and after waiting 2 hours just to receive lab papers and be sent off to Children's Mercy, today's appointment was easily the most dissatisfying experience with a pediatric center.
When trying to explain my frustration with the Dr. (who is very VERY nice) a member of the nursing staff interrupted me to explain why things were being done they were. 1. You are nursing staff. You should KNOW what we are there for and if you're walking us to the bathroom you should KNOW we needed a pee cup. 2. Don't interrupt me while I explain my concerns for how everything was going that day. 3. I was never told to fast my child, then day of (on the phone before being put on hold) was told to fast her, then I fasted her and she DIDN'T need to have fasted. Now it's 5pm and she's just now eating.
3 stars for the doctors whom I have always had a pleasant experience with and for the lady that did our paperwork. 0 stars for the rest of the staff that I interacted with today.response / report this review -

I called to set-up my appointment yesterday & the receptionist got me scheduled quickly. She was so nice & helpful. My appointment was today & the whole experience was very pleasant. Dr. Dattel & his staff were great! They answered every question/worry about my daughter. Her doctor also provided me with a mobile number for him in case I had any questions or concerns. I thought that was so awesome because since I have been home there have been an instance or two that I needed some knowledgeable advice. Overall, I definitely recommend this clinic!! I'm looking forward to going back for my daughter's future appointments.
Added Update: 6 month appointment today! The staff is always so great! I love bringing my daughter here. They are so sweet to her. And so encouraging.response / report this review -

I have taken my kids there for over 15 years. I must say that Jessie is amazing. We love her and how she treats the kids and she is very good at diagnosing things. BUT the rest of the experience is awful. The wait time is always horrendous. I have seen the office staff change over and over through the years. Some were great, some not so much. Today I tried to call and couldn't get through to a person. I did receive a call back (bonus) but it was from a rude and condescending front desk lady who made it seem like a huge inconvenience for me to bring my child in. She was almost doing everything she could to not get us into the practice.
It is unfortunate that the cons out way the pro's to get in to see Jessie. In perspective dealing with all of other issues it just isn't worth what you have go through. If you are looking for a pediatric practice I would suggest you keep looking unless you want to spend your entire day at the Dr. office and be treated less than by the office staff when you attempt to make an appointment.response / report this review -

We love Jessica Hughes at KC pediatrics!! She has been taking care of my son for 12 years! She is very kind, she makes my son very comfortable and she talks to him first!! I can’t forget about the ladies at the front desk who are super sweet and patient!! And the nurse assistants who are always generous with their calming down advice for nervous children! All around good experiences!❤️
