Awesome Zoo! Treat their animals with dignity and respect. Always (typically) clean park, spacious amount of parking so don't worry about not getting their early! Good place to take the family :)

One of my favorite zoos. The animals enclosures seem very representative of their natural habitat. The zoo worker made a special effort to give the bears their strawberry treat right near the observation windows. What a joy for our grandchildren to see the bears so close and eating healthy berries. Role models, maybe? I highly recommend this zoo for not only animal lovers but nature lovers too. Some up/down walking but lots of shade. A train is available to bring you up & down the hill. Enjoy🌲

Great zoo, very fun to do with the kids. We live close by and have a membership so that makes it easy. Good selection of animals, cool layout to make it interesting and some fun rotating exhibits. Highly recommend you go for an annual membership if you’re close by, great outing for the family.

Outstanding zoo, aquarium and gardens situated on a wooded hillside. Large multi sided interactive habitats giving visitors a chance to go nose-to-nose with many of the animals! Beautiful serpentine elevated walkways. Several interactive play areas for pre-teens. Bird and animal stage shows. Zoo also offers Camel rides, zip lines, and a funicular railway.

Great zoo! We went while some animals were somewhere warmer for winter but our son still had a blast! There was still a variety of animals to see. There was an employee who talked to us about the chimpanzees and we could tell she cared for them! It is a good sign when an employee loves their job!

We have a good time with every venture at John Ball Zoo. The staff is informative if you ask questions about the animals. The restrooms & grounds are well maintained. Keep expanding John Ball, the hard work shows & is appreciated!

This zoo will surprise you if you're coming from a larger city. I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the zoo as well as how friendly the staff was. The animals all seemed to be kept in a healthy environment and I would definitely come back here again before the winter comes!

First time here. Great for a smaller zoo. The "Birds" Show with eagles, other raptors, an African Locust (I think she said) which likes to grab it's favorite prey, poisonous snake's, and slam them repeatedly against the ground until they die. This was demonstrated with a fake snake, and it was hilarious! The birds flew very low over the audience, the Merlin brushed the top of my granddaughters head. Food was a bit expensive. We enjoyed it all.

One of the best zoo's I've been too--and one of the cheapest! The exhibits are clean and informative. There is a wide variety of exhibits and plenty to do even without buying any extras. The zoo is in a beautiful area and is easy to get too.

There are some "extras" that cost a bit more, such as the zipline and the bird show. But the zoo is plenty fun for everyone without having to purchase those.

It was a very disappointing trip to the John Ball Zoo. We took our grand children, expecting to see the animals up and moving. They were excited to see monkeys, lions and tigers but all were sleeping or hiding. It was the prime part of the day with many guests there, but no staff were feeding, or trying to stimulate the animals for the guests. We have been to other zoo's where they do this for the children. All in all, very disappointing. With this being said, the staff was very friendly, helpful and curtious. My wife and I have been to this zoo before and was very impressed, but today not. Lastly, we were thinking of purchasing the "Grand Parents" pass next summer, but now we are on the bubble with this purchase.

We had a great time here. Zoo was clean, fun and very welcoming. We loved our trip to grand rapids and the zoo was no different. A great stop in Grand Rapids to see the town.

It's a great fun zoo good for an exercise and great fun. Food and drinks are a bit pricey but other then the price of things it's worth it by far better then Potters park zoo in Lansing Michigan. I give John ball zoo 5 stars for beautiful animals , amazing intelligent staff and great fun. Plenty of things for kids and adults from zip line to in park climbing things. I love it

I really enjoy this zoo. It's small enough that I don't feel like I need to make a day of it, but has enough packed into it to feel like I am seeing stuff. My family gets the family pass every year, and we are glad we do.
