I will always use Joe Johnson because Marcus is an amazing person to work with and always goes above and beyond for his customers. On both of our purchases from there he has been amazing. Also Dave in your financing department made everything clean and easy for us and we greatly appreciated him and the way he worked hard for us.
I was looking for a specific used car, 2012 Camaro, and it so happen that Joe Johnson Chevrolet had stock of that vehicle. I initially went to purchase the vehicle in mid Feb. 2017. We agreed on the price and payments and when I went into the finance dept. the payment differed from what was initially quoted. I have superior credit, so that puzzled me how they were not aware of the current interest rate trends and could forecast a more accurate payment. We were about $500 dollars off on the price to make the payments where I wanted them based on the interest rate. I then declined to purchase the vehicle. I then received a call later that afternoon from the sales person asking if I have mistakenly took the keys to the vehicle, I stated that I had not. I asked him at that time is there any possible way to make up the $500 dollars in my trade or off the price. He stated they had made a bad mistake and not priced the vehicle properly due to not including the price for the used car certification from Chevrolet and that the price of the car would be higher by $500. (note they did find the keys at the dealership) I then waited a month and called back. I saw on the internet that the price was the same and that the certification was being advertised. I stated that I would be in to purchase the car, again they stated a mistake in advertising the certification. I asked if they could at least do a 3 month/3000 mile bumper to bumper warranty on this 2012 Camaro with 25000 miles. They refused any warranty. This started to concern me why they would not back their vehicle. Most dealerships will provide at least a 3 month/3000 mile warranty on that new of a vehicle due to low risk to them. I then stated my concern, and they finally came up with a plan that I pay for half the certification which was a total of $250 and they would pay the other half. It is unfortunate that this dealership could NOT advertise and price their vehicles properly, nor stand behind them with a least a 3 month/3000 warranty. It is also unfortunate that I had to protest that much for them to finally offer an olive branch, which finally happened after I stated I would leave a negative review. The sales person, Andrew did a fine job. I just got the feeling the dealership tied his hands. The rest of the staff however did NOT seem all that interested in selling a vehicle and providing friendly customer service. Bottom line I would have NOT purchased from them if it were not for the fact they had the specific vehicle I wanted. I have purchased many cars over the years and NEVER wrote a review for any of them.
Work was completed in a timely manner. Staff is friendly, waiting room has good wifi so I can work while I wait.
This was our first time working with the Joe Johnson Chevy team. Kevin B did a great job explaining the differences in the models we were looking at, was very knowledgeable about the vehicle overall and did a great job listening to what our needs from the vehicle were. Once we had decided which one we wanted he kept an open line of communication through the buying process and kept us informed of every step they (the Joe Johnson team) were working on and expected time frames of completion. I am completely satisfied with our purchase, overall price and overall experience working with Kevin and the Joe Johnson team. In fact I was a little surprised at the vehicle we ended up with; we were expecting to purchase the LT model Equinox with a few options and ended up being able get a fully loaded premiere model to fit within our budget, to our happy surprise. I have purchased new Chevy vehicles at other dealers in the past and have had good experiences, but will now go back to Kevin and the Joe Johnson team in the future for my vehicle needs. Thanks again for the great buying experience and hopefully we will get to do it again in a couple years!"
I will never buy a Chevy or GM vehicle again due mostly to the way I was treated here at Joe Johnson about a year ago. I purchased a used Chevy Cobalt (not from here) with only around 30,000 miles and it's engine went out after only one year and three months. I kept up with all maintenance and it was in good condition. I called GM and they set me up to bring the vehicle here to Joe Johnson and told me that they notified them and that it could be a recall isseue. They also told me that Joe Johnson would have a rental car waiting on me free of charge. When I got to Joe Johnson they were very rude and short with me and then when I inquired about the rental car they told me that they didn't have one for me. When I told them that GM had called and reserved a rental car for me they denied that they talked to GM about the rental car. I insisted that they make good on their guarantee of a rental car and they told me that the rental area was closed and that it was impossible to get one. At that time I suggested that I could call GM to figure out the situation and immediately they became very rude and seemed angry. They told me that they would give me a car but they said that giving me one would mean that someone else who reserved it wouldn't get it. After, they proceeded very unprofessionally and rudly with threats saying that if they find anything at all wrong with my car on top of the recall problem then they would charge me for every day that I had the rental car. I declined the rental car and left very frustrated after being promised one by GM. Three days later Joe Johnson called me and told me that my engine had gone out and that I needed to pay $600 for a diagnostics and that even with the diagnostics I was going to have to purchase a new engine. They would do nothing else to help me unless I payed the $600 for the diagnostics and then pay for the engine and labor to install the engine even though they knew that I needed a new engine without the diagnostics. Needless to say I could get no help and was treated horribly and ended up having to purchase another vehicle from another dealer. My Cobalt only had 37,000 miles on it and I had only owned it for a year and three months and I had to purchase another vehicle and add the remaining amount owed on the Cobalt to the loan for my new vehicle. I will never buy Chevy or GM again and I would never recommend Joe Johnson to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle.
