one of the great americana hotels of the country. the veranda is would famous and the facilities are equally as famous. the movie a somewhere i time with jane seymour and christopher reeve was filmed there using the hotel as part of the theme.

It's a great experience, expensive but well worth it. Hotel is all inclusive. Service is excellent, food is ok. It's more the experience that you'd love. If you're planning on visiting make sure you bring formal attire - you're required to wear formal attire for dinner and dusk in the grounds. Hotel arranges pick up and drop off from the ferry. Make sure you have some drinks at the bar and enjoy the view of Mackinac Island and the lake.
